why are you still at kroger anyway? Wasn't it "just a summer job"? It was for me, but then one day I got tired of the **** and realized that thing weren't going to get better so it was up to me to find something better. You're always going to be open 364 days a year, work most holidays, work whatever shifts they "need" you to, work weekends. Personally I enjoy my new job with weekends and holidays off. Much less physically demanding. Enjoy your bag and knee problems and slowly increasing wages that go along with rising healthcare costs LMAO
Haha, that's exactly why in my case. I got another job but I still work 2 days a week at Kroger. I wanted one day and they said no, but now they cut my hours to one day anyway. But I figure if things fall through with my other job and I get fired or laid off or something else happens it's easier to fall back on Kroger as a safety net. Ihave enough seniority where I get four weeks vacation and don't have to work evenings or weekends. It's easier than starting somewhere new.

that's a good plan! Best of luck on the 2nd job becoming your 1st job!
I've been at my new job for about 6 weeks and already making double what I did at kroger in over 10 years. Sure I'm losing vacation time but who cares!
It's tough, man. You ever talk to people about working for Kroger? Outsiders think it's still like the 90's when you could actually making a living here. That's... not what it is anymore.
The other part is that Kroger refuses to work around a school schedule unless you are a useful courtesy clerk. That's... not many. Otherwise, they'll sabotage your class schedule. If it's not because of their own incompetence, it's to purposefully **** you right in the ass (dry) in hopes that you're a wagecuck and will stick around a while longer.
It's going to sting to be cheated out of murr vercurrshun.
However, it's going to be worth it to get a real job. You can do better. Please, do better.

Thanks man. I hope things go well at your new job too.

So far so good. I will tell you this. Once you leave, whenever you go back in to work it's like "w...t...f?" It really makes you see how much it sucks. Unless you go to another retail job, you should be able to see how the grass really is greener on the other side. Now if you head to target or wallsmart, you might find it's about the same, but I can't speak from experience on that. It just can't be that much better, can it?
