Pay GOMS Grocery Ops Manager
Permalink

I am curious as to what a GOM should be making hourly? I have been in my role for one year and am trying to get an idea from those who know. Also what do you guys think of the constant added work to GOMS. Here is a list of things that I do. Lows and Holes, Residuals, ISO ordering, Pick lists, Center store rotation, CDMs (code date management), End Cap changes, Dump bin, half moon and rounder changes, Unloading truck some days, Working load some days, Add planing (I have my own template for encaps and plan as required from priority list), merchandising, and the list goes on. Most of these things I do daily and when a load isn't completed things get sloppy because I am having to cut corners to make up.

What state are you in?  GOM sounds more like a co manager title to me.

The day Grocery Manager with 20 years in Michigan makes $19.68.  He does all that and orders Peyton.  $19.28 base pay and $.40 premium for over $900k in weekly sales without fuel and Pharmacy.

A Grocery Department manager hired after 6/18/2010  starts at $15.25.  Then, tops out at $17.50 +$.40  premium after 12 months.  Until the next contract.

Depends on where you are located.

Not easy to find an unskilled job paying  $19.50/hr in Michigan.

High pay for Texas cost of living.

Low pay for California cost of living.
