we have to many people on sunday night when the load is smalland less people on friday when its a double load night at times. makes no sense
The busiest day for most stores is Sunday. Sunday night is the best time to run backstock to refill the store and clean up back room. Most people don't like running back stock tho. My crew will slack off or ask to leave early instead of running backstock.
Or, the wrong person is writing the schedule...
Most day people don't understand night crew work flow. Everything is off by 24 hours. When you have a double truck on Friday, they might think you are running it on Saturday night.

Backstock carts are worked every night except 10 and 12 on friday. Sunday people do those carts plus their slow mover carts and some get done early and just go home.
Deli is real bad. Recently, we've started scheduling only one person in the deli. That's miserable.
Grocery can be good or bad. We had a store manager who cut grocery hours by 3/4. Three grocery guys quit on the same day.
Onsite fuel center is a goddamn nightmare and you don't get breaks.
Whenever someone complains about work inside the store, I remind them that at least they can go to the bathroom as needed. At the fuel center, we have no bathrooms or even a sink to wash our hands after we're given money covered in boob sweat (titties are not pockets!) and heaven only knows what kind of nasty stuff. Getting someone from the store to come let us go to the bathroom is often like pulling teeth.
