We're lucky if we even get the Free Friday item in.
If we do, greedy ****s use multiple accounts to get two or three. I've seen some jerks do up to five before getting stopped. We're almost always out of the item by the early afternoon and almost never get more.

Feels almost like a bait and switch.
People crack me up coming in Sunday or later in the week, looking for the Freebie from Friday. It's not like we have an unlimited quantity of items, especially those that are brought in by vendors. The multiple accounts are probably why they're seemingly doing away with the freebie--ruining something good for everyone who is honest
Free Friday is most likely stopping because vendors saw no sales uplift after the item was featured. The items featured were "New" or items companies were trying to reintroduce to the market, the company paid little or nothing for those items.

Thats how it is at my store. After the download period, sales would revert back to where they were, or even worse. It has been a waste.
Think about it, did you ever see a Store Brand item featured? No, because that would cost the company 100% of the cost for item. For a vendor it was easy to get the items in the hands of customers, but these items were not something people would purchase over and over again.

especially when it was yogurt, over and over again. I think it WAS store brand here and there, however. I remember one of the first Free Fridays was a 12 pack of lipton green tea (like a $5.99 value). Then the army of yogurt came rolling in
