Today I come in and my co-worker/buddy tells me that the asm said that if he hears us talking about fishing, pets, movies etc he would write us up because a customer said we ignored her. That is total BULLSH*T because she was talking along with us asking us what kinds of fish we caught and movies we had seen. So I told my co-worker that maybe we shouldnt talk much anymore with ANYONE. INCLUDING talkative customers. That way if he TRIES to write us up, it will be void. We'll still be polite but it will be business conversations only. I guess the asm heard me say "f*ck that write up!" To my co-worker because he seemed p*ssed off at me the remainder of the day.
I'll NOT sign ANY write up for something I am innocent of.
This sounds totally ridiculous. But, just to be sure, is there any chance at all that the person complaining about being ignored was ANOTHER woman who stood nearby (and felt she was being ignored) while you talked to the first woman about fishing, pets and movies? Just a thought.
There was a lady behind the one we were ringing up (I was bagging the order) and this lady had a HUGE Order. As in she might as well bought the whole damn store (she had two other full carts parked in a vacant checkstand near ours). We can't (and won't) just stop serving her to acknowledge the lady behind her. She could have gone to another checkstand. We even warned her it would take a while and the lady behind her said she was in no hurry.
