There seem to be very few people that work UScan in my store and they also seem to train very few people to do it. This irritates me because I usually have to wait a long time for my break and when my shift is over Im waiting around 15 minutes while my ride is outside waiting to have someone come around and replace me. Why is it like this? Why dont they train more people to do self checkout because there never seems to be enough.
its like this in my store too. as soon as we train them they quit with in a week. we only have 2 closing uscan people me and 1 other person the only other person quit after a month of being hired. i asked why they don't train literally any one over 21 the uscan and the reason is because no one is willing to learn it. screw that make them learn it. its a cashier job to learn the uscan and the cash lane.

Your fault. If your off clock out and leave. Youre not obligated in anyway to stay till some one comes to relieve you. Thats their problem nit yours
Its just weird to me they dont just train people to do it. I had to wait over 2 years to be trained to run self checkout and wish I had been doing it all along, but evidently they dont make people learn it so we're without people who can run it. It just makes no sense.
Well they never trained me to do it from the beginning. They seem to train some people to but not others. There are several cashiers that dont run UScan at all or know how to run it.
Two former supervisors said to me early on that they think I would be good at Uscan and I said Id like to learn it and they said they'd talk to the FEM and it never happened,
Last year the FEM one time said she wished I could do Uscan, but I still didnt get trained.
I said I would do it so many times and then they finally trained me and now I mainly do self checkout and feel a lot better about my job because I had a lot of difficulties as a normal cashier.
If they wanted me to do it, why didnt they just train me? Why did they wait all this time when they could've just taught me it from the beginning? Surely if the FEM wants someone on Uscan they should just train them to use it but I guess that isnt how it works.
This seems to be a problem at most stores I've been in over the years, but with FET they're forced to train almost everyone. My store has more SCO hours than cashier hours. So now we have an opposite problem, some of my sco cashiers don't know how to properly run a regular register.
