purchased a used Lexus 2012 IS350 with low miles , used to work at kroger but quit because my boss was a prick and everyones hours were a huge mess!!! I drive for uber part time for just 30 hours a week before I start my real job in August. Would you guys quit Kroger and drive for uber if you were pulling in 300 a week on just 15 hours a week? I do slightly better cuz I do 30, but this is only temporary . Plus that lexus uses premium gas. BUT ... with those numbers would you quit kroger? I guess it depends what city youre in but my city is busy . Also no boss to tell you what to do. You can work as long as you want. If you dont have a car just rent one (they have some you do per hour now apparently).
Very strong points on cost of fuel etc etc. but what if you Only intend to be at Kroger for a little bit say because of school. But, all the while you have a car to drive for Uber. Knowing that it is temporary would you switch to uber ? Pros: no boss , no schedule, and flexibility. I have been scheduled sometimes when I had midterms and it sucked. But yeah temporary position only : KROGER or UBER.

oh ok, that's fair. I understand being scheduled at bad times...this can be difficult to plan for. Not sure if it's a factor for you or not, but do you have health insurance at work? For short term you probably could do pretty good at uber, considering you can make your own hours
When I start my job in August I will be covered by health insurance , but for the few months I will be doing uber I wont be as they dont provide that because of drivers being considered independent contractors. While this uber thing is temporarily I wont mind not having health insurance for a few months . I only left Kroger due to issues with scheduling , bad management , etc. I COULD have just stayed and tolerated kroger until August , but i decided to just hop on the uber thing as a stepping stone Until I start my new job. Who knows I may even drive ultra part time when doing my full time work. UBER is good for a side gig, and only that . Full time would wreck your car, cost you a ton, and just be tedious and not fun.... oh and yeah, no health coverage.
