There have been rumors at my store that the courtesy clerk with the most seniority gets the same pay as a CSM...is this true? The lead courtesy clerk also is in charge of the rest and orders things like plastic bags, cart ropes and vests. Is this a joke or true?
Nope. The only thing lead cc's get is MORE responsibility for the SAME pay. That's why no cc's at my store want to be lead. It's getting so that management is going to assign a cc to be lead, no its ands or buts about it.
I don't think there is a such thing as a lead CC around here.
I was told I was the lead Utility Clerk. I order the Supplies mostly cleaning. Sometimes I order cart straps and ropes. But never have ordered bags that comes on Grocery.
At my store, theres no such thing as a lead for courtesy or utility clerks. Theres a lady who cleans toilets. Very nice lady. I used to be a floor supervisor since I got baited in. Dont do it. More responsibility and empowerment isnt worth you or your ego. Kroger doesnt care what youve done the day before but rather present time. You can come in early, kiss ass or take peoples shifts.. youll still be fired as quick as the next unfortunate fellow. Happened to me.
It's just a title change to make one feel better about them selves. You're still doing the same job. There's actually no such thing. It just means you're the most senior individual on the job. You get the same rate of pay as everyone else.
