AFAIK no Kroger sells "liquor"-our store just has beer and wine and some port, champagne and some other items. We do get a lot of requests from customers asking if we sell vodka-we have to send them to the liquor store on the other side of our shopping center where we are located
I think 4hourrush and I are in the same district, because our store also has a liquor store. And yep, the full lot, Jack Daniels, Smirnoff Vodka, etc etc.
It depends on the State, Ohio has "State Liquor Agency Stores" that Kroger is trying to gobble up one for each store location. Kentucky has a state tradition of its people wanting to be drunk at all times, so there is a Liquor Store on each corner. One requirement KY has, Liquor Stores has to have to be "own establishment" with their own entrance, which is why they are next door to the physical "Big" store.
Cashier ALWAYS has some snazzy bullsh*t to say. I'm embarrassed enough as it is. Just let me buy my sh*t and go!
You people buying liquor I have a still make the best moonshine. Recipe been in my family over 100 years. I still have the original paper it was hand written on in the 1880's..
I know in Pennsylvania (I go to Philly frequently) there are also the "state stores" and liquor is very tightly regulated there. I didn't know other states had similar set ups. Not sure if there is Kroger in Pennsylvania
Its only "State Regulated" as a revenue stream for the state. There is no reason why a state needs to own and control the sale of any consumable product. Its one thing to have laws on the sale, but another for a state to have 100% control of items widely available and able to be purchased by anyone over the age of 21.
