Depends upon which department and contract. Meat, seafood, deli, bakery generally = yes. Grocery index on current contract = no.

Yes, You lose the pay premium.

I would lose $4 an hour if I stepped down.  Sometimes, the stress isn't worth the $4.

 That's $160.00 extra a week (probably $120.00 after taxes) assuming you work 40 hours.  I'd think long and hard before giving up that much money.

Yeah, i'm in the same boat, part of me would feel much better if i did step down but i can't afford to.

The union said we got to keep our pay rate as department leaders if we got bumped down but lost it if we stepped down
