Question about coming in on a day off

Yesterday a manager asked me to come in today and I said ok. But then something came up and I couldn't come in after all, so I called today to let them know. Will it count as a call off, since I was already scheduled to be off to begin with?

It will not count as a call off as you were not scheduled to work.

 It does count you made a commitment and now your backing out. You wont get holiday pay either
