I'm Jeff from Cinci Div. I've been with Kroger for five years and my record has been spotless. Well last week they claim I stole some snack items during my lunch break, say I'm on video doing it but refuse to show it to me, say that a cashier saw me doing it but refuse to tell me who she is, I waved union membership so I have no representation that way, and now I've been 'supended pending investigation'. Now. I've got a few questions here, so bear with me: 1. how do I get to see that video? Is it a dvr system that's on a shared data base or do you think it's an old school actual video camera attached to a hard ware recording device? Who do I have to talk to about seeing this so called evidence they claim they have on me reference of all that? 2. As for this so called witness, if I get a lawyer (which I'm leaning towards doing---more on that in a minute), can I sunpoena the store management for the identity of this cashier? Would my lawyer have to contact Kroger corp.? Can this be handled out of court, or do you think Kroger will drag it all into court? 3. Even tho I waved union memebership can I invoke Weingraten Rights any way? Can I retro join and have mebershio fees deducted now, or have those amounts pro rated til first quarter of next year? Anyone here ever experience things of this nature, or am I the first? 4. As for this 'suspended pending...', our sm is a woman and not bad looking. She's come onm to me in not so discreet ways in the past but I always blew her off as I didn't wanna jeopradide my job. But now I'm thinking of maybe turning up the heat a little and seeing where that leads, maybe come on to her some or at least return some of the sexual interest she'd been throwing my way. What do you think of thagt? I know she's married, but hell, if she's into me and it saves my job, I'm 'up' for the challende, lol. ok, I know that was a bit to digest, but, what are youe thoughts on all this? Thanks.
Sorry, I called myself Jeff at the start of this but signed it as Gary. Jeff is my legal name but I go by Gary, he was my favorite uncle who raised me but now he's dead and I kinda borrowed his name in honor of him.

Contact the Union and tell them what happened, file a grievance and then the Union will be able to see any video and other statements. In reality, unless someone see you take something from a shelf and then consume it, its hard to prove something like this.
