For two weeks the managment has been scheduling full timers only 28-32 hours a week is this allowed?

There is multiple part timers with more hours than full time.

Sounds like the lazy bums are getting their hours cut. But no when youre full time you are guaranteed your 40 a week.

At my store all full timers hours are down to 32.
I work in the meat department we have 6 full timers & 1 new hire thats part time.
We have just two people opening & two people closing, but one really one person by himself for two to five hours.
I close by myself five hours Friday & Saturday.

You all must have a poor contract because if hours are going to be cut, part time hours should go first.

If you have a contract, read and make contact with your Rep. If not, HR and the OPS people are your next step, assuming you have already talked to your managers already.

your store must be hurting for business and sales if full time people are pushed down to 32

Doesnt full time haft to average 36-38 thru 3 months to maintain there health insurance ?

we have three opening and usually 5-6 closing each night in the meat department

but were doing 1.5 million a week in sales for a store

Its normal practice. Every one is classified as part time. Which means 40 hours is not guaranteed. If you want a full time job I suggest to look elsewhere. The only ways you get 40 is if youre a department lead, at a store that offers full time, on call 24/7, or at a store desperate for staff, or in a department short staffed. Full time isnt guaranteed. Go to an company if you want a full time job.
