As long as it's not concealed what's the big deal? If it has its safety on, and is in a holster who cares? Special snowflakes need to realize if someone really wants to carry a gun on their person they're going to do it, policy/law or no policy/law.
I'd be afraid there will be a bunch of "brothers" shopping at the "hood" locations, knowing full well the general public is disarmed and has a less chance of firing back.
Yeah, pretty sure a grocery store is private property despite a **** ton of people coming in and out of the place. The company that owns the store has a right to refuse service to anyone for any reason (except discrimination) and ask them to leave.
Just like if you hosted a party at your house, you have the right to ask anyone to leave.
If I want to carry a gun when I go shop. I will carry a gun when I shop. Nothing can be done it's my second amendment right.

There is no reason for you to need to carry a gun out in public. Now if you want to keep a gun at home to protect your family and property, that's your business. In the meantime, I think you should look up the history of the second amendment and why its importance in colonial times doesn't apply to today. Peolpe to to skip over the first part of the amendment that says, "A well regulated milita, being necessary to the security of a free State..."

I also keep a double barrel shotgun in my truck under the seat. And you have no right telling me I have no reason to carry. Like I said if I want to carry I will carry.

That is funny because I am a Conservative Republican.

My point exactly. There's more to being a Conservative than the right to carry a gun wherever you please.

I bet you are one of the snowflakes that think it is the gun that kills people.
Nobody seems to notice these requests/guidelines (not actual laws) enacted by Walmart and Kroger say nothing about "Concealed Carry" firearms. Only "Open carry".
Since our 2nd Amendment rights ARE still in effect, (although the Democratic/Leftist/Socialist leaning party would very much like to find ways to erode that constitutional right, and they make few pains to hide that anymore) this means anyone who has a concealed carry permit can (usually) legally do so, although it depends on what state you are living in and their local laws.
Personally, I feel more comfortable knowing that if a gun-wielding madman comes into a public place such as a grocery store and begins shooting people for no reason, there is a good chance that a law-abiding citizen with a concealed firearm may be nearby who can put a quick stop to the carnage, saving who-knows-how-many lives.
After all, please keep in mind this idea. What is the best thing to stop a bad guy with a gun???? Answer: a good guy (or girl) with a gun.
Remember the mass shooter at the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado?? The authorities found that before he went on his rampage, killing about 12 people (I forget off the top of my head) and wounding dozens more, he had conducted internet searches, researching which theatres in the metro area were "gun free zones" and which ones were NOT gun free zones.............guess which one he wanted to go to?? .............he went to the one that prohibited guns inside the building, knowing that he would encounter less resistance when he started shooting.
There were basically two reasons why the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution was enacted: 1) To protect life and property from an intruder, and 2) to serve as a deterrent to the ever-present tendency of a typical government to become increasingly more corrupt and power-hungry as time goes on.....
Most young people have no (or only a very hazy) understanding of what has happened in other countries in the past when their government became so powerful and bureaucratic that they forcibly took all guns away from the citizens of that country. The Nazis forced all Jews and others they disagreed with (i.e. that they hated) to surrender all their guns. Then millions of them were murdered in cold blood.
Such a thing happening in the United States is absolutely unthinkable...........or so we like to think. But, just to be on the safe side we need to be aware that history repeats itself over and over............and especially if the people don't remember, and learn, from the mistakes of the past.
Government systems of Communism, Fascism, Socialism are all very closely related, and involve loss of individual freedom, and the increasing power of the government to force the people of the country to do whatever the "Elite" in power want them to do.
A lot of the dangers of socialism and communism are now being glossed over by our extreme liberal/leftist leaning media and educational system, even starting in the books for grade school children on up into high school and the colleges and universities. Just be aware and keep your eyes and ears open! Much of history that was taught even 40 years ago is now ignored in our public schools. Our children are becoming history-challenged.
Pretty simple guys... if you don't like the company's stance on the issue then voice your disapproval with your wallet and shop at companies that aren't pushing this policy. There are plenty of shopping options these days... traditional brick and mortar stores, online, personal shoppers that deliver to your home... you don't have to give money to a company that you feel is on the wrong side of an issue.
Why get mad at something that you can just... you know, avoid.
Not sure what stores and states people commenting from are in, but at my store it's not a big deal. They said they're asking people to not open carry while in the store, but they're not going to make people leave or anything. It's legal to open carry in my state, so they said, unless that changes, they won't be pressing the issue... my question though, if you live in a state where it's illegal to open carry, then wouldn't you be breaking the law to open carry in a store?
