An even larger lack of management.

So we have 3 managers at our store: store director, merchandising and operations. Corporate wants them scheduled in a way that basically, we only have a manager on Friday nights, every single other night, they should all be off by 5. Can someone explain why that would make sense to anyone? I work at money services and most of my experiences where people try to pull shady crap have been at night. If there's a problem with a customer, we have nobody there to help. I have no backup when I have to deny things, like Western Unions to prevent fraud. If they were hourly employees, I would understand slightly more, but they're salary. Why should we have to suffer as a store? When people ask for a manager, most of the time, a csm is not good enough for them, but what are we supposed to do??? :(

I definitely see and respect your point of view. However, my experience has been that there are too many managers and coordinators! I'm sure it varies by district. Btw, I'm in district 4, Louisville division.

We have a store manager and 3 co's; the merch, the ops, and the HR. There's still nights when we are left with only a MOD after 5 especially when one is on vacation. Why purposely schedule it that way? Makes no sense to me.

Yeah, I dunno. Problems don't stop after 5... haha. I wish! We usually only have 1 checker unless they call the other departments (who still have all their own stuff to do) so sometimes it's really hard for the csm to even make it over to help me when the managers are gone.

I appreciate your wording on that, haha. I also see your point that there is sometimes too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Especially since the way corporate wants it, two of them are there between like 6-8a to 5p, all 3 if the days off allow. Unfortunately we get about 1 checker most of the time so quevision is always god awful, especially during holidays. We had caselot over Labor Day weekend with no hours to give anyone.. so oof. I'm over in WY, so we don't get a lot. :(

They are always tinkering without a system.  Trying to see what they can get away with.  In aerospace there was a saying, "You can have it better, cheaper and faster, but please only expect two of them at a time."  We should all be shopping around for a better company.

Just because my store has ten cashiers scheduled generally means the fes is in the check stand and the manager running self check.
