Getting sick of being asked to donate to charities that channel funds to planned parenthood -- The Salvation Army.

They stand just outside the Kroger entrance and ring some damn bell for hours on end.

What are we going to do next year?  Having someone from the KKK in full hooded garb ring a bell to get negroes out of the country?

You all make me sick.  Research EVERYTHING because it's not what you think!

I am glad Kroger will let the Salvation Army ring the bell. If you do not like the Charity no one forces you to give.

Planned Parenthood provides a lot of low cost services such as breast cancer screenings, and women's health exams and provide low cost birth control and also prenatal care for women. Abortions are not even 5% of the services they provide. Please do research on it. I'll happily donate to them knowing they save women's lives.

I don't think they support Abortion at all. Maybe if a girl is raped by her father or another close family member close enough it might cause the child to be deformed. And I am not sure I even support Abortion for that reason.

Half of all aborted babies are female.  How is that saving lives?

DID YOU JUST ASSUME THEIR GENDER?!?!?!?!111?

Personally, I believe that if you have kids and none of them are adopted, it's not your place to say abortion is wrong.

Planned Parenthood is a killing machine, plain and simple.  They gloss over and whitewash what they are mainly in business to do........put unborn children to death, and make money on it. This is no joke.   They performed 332,757 abortions in the 2017-2018 year (the latest figures available).  Don't let the modern-day population-control buffs fool you! This is true.................

Don't forget this good advice!  ......................

So, you're ok with poor women not getting mammograms and things like cervical cancer screenings then as well as birth control(please note I mean pills, IUDs and other methods, I am not talking about abortions here, I suggest researching birth control methods if you dont understand this, I dont know if anyone's told you, but using birth control prevents the need for abortions in the first place). Pregnant women also go to planned parenthood for PRENATAL CARE as in they want their baby and to make sure the baby is healthy.  Im starting to think people here dont know what Planned Parenthood actually is.

If you don't want to donate to the Salvation Army then don't. Frankly I am surprised that no customer has got upset that we sell Plan B or other pregnancy interruption pills (at least in our store.)

Planned Parenthood should not be funded by the government, nor should an anti-abortion agency.

The Salvation Army is actually a Protestant denomination.   Did you know that?

Why is one denomination allowed to be at the entrances of Kroger while others are not?

The issue of wrong doing is on the pharmacist and the pharmacy technicians.  The issue of a monetary donation is a deception that takes money from the gullible.

That's the difference and why there's no outward Plan B objections.

50% of conceptions are male and the other are female.  Now in China, female babies are aborted more often.

So are you saying it is your place to say abortion is right?  What are you basing that on?

Abortion Isn't  "Planned" and it isn't  "Parenthood," so how is the name "Planned Parenthood" a suitable name for this organization?

What gives the Kroger corporation the right to take this stand by allowing the Salvation Army the privilege to stand out front?

The Salvation Army (TSA) is a Protestant Christian church and an international charitable organisation. The organisation reports a worldwide membership of over 1.7 million, consisting of soldiers, officers and adherents collectively known as Salvationists. Its founders sought to bring salvation to the poor, destitute, and hungry by meeting both their "physical and spiritual needs". It is present in 131 countries, running charity shops, operating shelters for the homeless and disaster relief and humanitarian aid to developing countries.

The theology of the Salvation Army is derived from that of Methodism, although it is distinctive in institution and practice. A peculiarity of the Army is that it gives its clergy titles of military ranks, such as "lieutenant" or "major". It does not celebrate the rite of Baptism and Holy Communion. However, the Army's doctrine is otherwise typical of holiness churches in the Wesleyan-Arminian tradition. The Army's purposes are "the advancement of the Christian religion ... of education, the relief of poverty, and other charitable objects beneficial to society or the community of mankind as a whole".

The Army was founded in 1865 in London by one-time Methodist circuit-preacher William Booth and his wife Catherine as the East London Christian Mission, and can trace its origins to the Blind Beggar tavern. In 1878 Booth reorganised the mission, becoming its first General and introducing the military structure which has been retained as a matter of tradition. Its highest priority is its Christian principles. The current international leader of The Salvation Army and chief executive officer (CEO) is General Brian Peddle, who was elected by the High Council of The Salvation Army on 3 August 2018.

It's not just a Church the denomination is branched off the Methodist Church.

Not that it's "right," just that it's no one's business but the pregnant woman's to make that decision. Especially when so many of the protesters are Christian, it's just hypocritical in that way - doesn't the bible explicitly say that it's not your place to judge anyone for anything; only god's? The religious are idiots anyway. But I brought up adoption because that's one of the big argued points: "if you're aborting the baby because it was a mistake and you can't take care of it, just put it up for adoption." So many PARENTS argue this, and yet by simply having children of their own when so many children go unadopted, they are voiding the logic of their own argument.

The gender thing was a joke, by the way...

False.   You missed out on the judging rightly part.  We are to judge rightly. :

Go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. (Matt. 18:15-17)

Over population is a myth.  The planet is getting more gray haired folks as a larger percentage of a shrinking population.

Population growth rate might have declined, but the population itself is still rising.

It also says gays don't go to heaven ("men who have sex with men" grouped in with a list of actual immoral criminals who 'will not inherit the kingdom of god'). Why would you support willfully ignorant preachings like that?

Same sex attraction does not prevent someone from going to heaven.  Acting on it does prevent someone from getting into heaven if the act isn't repented.

It is called such because it provides services to let people PLAN their families. Did you look at the links I posted? All of those services are not abortion like providing birth control methods. Contraception is not the same as abortion, it prevents pregnancy, you dont need an abortion if you're not pregnant.

Also many people that use Planned Parenthood's many services dont go for Abortions at all, not all Planned Parenthood centers even provide them. Im really tired of all the ignorance surrounding them.

??? ... yes, that's pretty much what I quoted from the bible says. Gay people aren't going to go through life only day-dreaming about each other just because some invisible wizard in the sky won't let them into the club when they die if they take things further. They have sexual desires, as is natural with every human being ever. If there was a god, and he was so against this, he wouldn't have wired some of them to be gay, and given everyone such a strong sexual drive. What, does he grudgingly leave some a little unfinished and send some souls on down to hell for tweaking before letting them be born? Or are you saying god allows these people to have all the gay sex they want as long as they repent after each event... because I guess he's lonely up there and the prayers being sent up make him giggle like an excited child?

You lost me.

What are you talking about?

What is your most important/favorite comment/question you want to ask?  Please keep in mind, this is about Kroger having the Salvation Army channeling funds to Planned Parenthood ...so.......in the interest of time, do your best to stay on topic.

Can you give me the cash value of what you are trying to say?

This phrase (noted in red)  is the standard mocking, simplified, unspiritual, naive understanding of what God supposedly is, or is conceived to be by Christians, a characterization as often promoted by atheists or agnostics.

God is nothing less than the Great Eternal One, the Eternal Spirit,  who is the  ONLY thing/person/entity/force/being  (call it what you want,  that has always existed, never began and can never end) . He is THE first cause, the beginning of all things, the entire reason the universe is here and we are here.  Scientists have totally lost their minds and ended up in insane asylums, just trying to figure out why the world is here, and why we exist.

He existed before the creation of the universe, which (and this is argued constantly by scientists, but most will agree) did come into existence at some unimaginably long time ago...........there WAS a time when the universe did not exist..........as impossible as it is for us mere humans to imagine, that "time" did exist, and it was just as real as the present moment. God, in his infinite understanding, knew what was going to happen over the billions of years to come, but having all the time in the world to accomplish it, he was, and is, in no hurry for all things to come to pass in their appointed time.

God hides himself in simplicity!  Take a simple ordinary green blade of grass that you step on every day without a thought. The components of that blade of grass are so complicated that the smartest men in the entire world do not know everything there is to know about it, and exactly all the processes involved in how it grows and reproduces. Just ONE cell in that blade of grass is more complicated than the most sophisticated computer on earth, and much of the actions which go on in each cell are still not perfectly understood by the most eminent scientists  on earth.

The composition of just one cell and the extremely hard to understand operations of that cell REQUIRE a source of Intelligence guiding those actions.  (Not just some vague notion of "that's nature")  A definite PURPOSE requires INTELLIGENCE!  Scientists know this is a fact but they pretend it doesn't matter.  In order for something to happen which shows a specific purpose, SOMETHING had to Cause that to happen in order to arrive at a particular result!  Does this make sense? In other words, everything that makes sense means that SOME THING thought of it and caused it to happen.  INTELLIGENCE CANNOT COME FROM A VACCUUM!!!!!  Atheists, in effect, seem to accept that intelligence emanates from Nothing (emptiness, nothingness, lack of anything), which is totally stupid!  It is not logical or right.

Look at your body in the mirror and think really hard!  Does you ear have a specific purpose? Yes. It is there in order for you to hear! This sounds so obvious, but think harder........ where did the Intelligence come from that decided that your ear would be in a specific shape and it would be formed to have the purpose of hearing? Look at your eyes..... so complicated is their structure that it is beyond the understanding of the most intelligent people on earth to understand how it came into being.

Yet your eyes have a purpose.........so you can see.  What Intelligence thought of your eye and let it come into being? It might have been billions of years for life to keep getting higher and higher until the final, most intelligent physical being we know of appeared..........the Human Being.. but it happened anyway.

And we are a Reflection (not anywhere near as good or intelligent or holy) but a REFLECTION (an Image, something like it) of the great ONE, our CREATOR, that has existed for ever and ever.

That is why there is an unbridgeable gap between us and the highest animals closest to us...........we are the final created being that God had been thinking of in his eternal understanding.

We are instinctively searching for Something (anything) to satisfy that indescribable Thirst for God.......God put that "thirst" in our hearts which is why we are constantly trying to satisfy that thirst/desire with replacements like drugs, or illicit sex, or food,  or drink, or hard living, or fancy cars, new houses, better computers......whatever, it is the thirst for the unsearchable riches of God........it is part of our being instilled in our makeup to look and look for our Creator.

He is, in effect, standing "behind the Curtain", watching us to see how we react to various situations and what we are going to do about it. How we are going to relate to our fellow human beings and if we will be searching for Him in sincerity.................

Points 1 and 2)  original sin -- disease/famine/bolts falling of airplane engines with the plane crashing on takeoff/alcoholism, etc. got unleased.  Permissive will.

3) Has to be a sincere confession to be validly forgiven by God with the clause to seek to avoid the near-occasion of that sin.  That was always the teaching with the earliest Christians.  There's lots of people who have withheld confessing certain sins or did not have a penitent heart and got a bad review in their exit interview when everyone thought they were great people.  Padre Pio was great at detecting this.  So to answer your question, simply saying you're sorry as an excuse to do it again is not church teaching.

Also, since we are on the issue of gay activity, the same is true with heterosexual activity.  Both gay and hetero attraction has to be chaste.  Gay being permanently chaste.  Hetero open for married folks.

I agree. It's actually a mental illness. That's not meant as an insult either. Just take a look around at everything in nature, be it mammal, insect, plant, etc, the main purpose of all living things is to reproduce in order to ensure survival of the species. Not being attracted to the opposite sex clearly goes against nature. Not PC but isn't it clearly obvious?
