Several people in my store are wondering what the next step would be-is it the same for a manager versus an hourly employee. Another compliant has been filed against her for the same issue she was verbally admonished on.

Most likely is she'll be transfered to another part of the company where she doesn't interact with hourly employees.  Depending on how severe the complaint is, she may be required to attend an anger managemant seminar.  She would only be fired if she struck an employee or if she made a threat of bodily harm.

She'd probably have another note placed then get transferred.

Report it to the kroger ethics board. They'll investigate it. Verbal reprimanding should be a no no. I've worked in offices whee they've fired people on the spot for that type of attitude. That shouldn't be even remotely allowed here.

Depending on the severity of the issue, number of issues, she may be transferred to another store. If she makes inappropriate comments based on religion, race, or sexual preference she may STILL be transferred to another store. Especially if she is 'well liked.' But if its extreme, well liked or not, she may be terminated.

Why is Kroger so reluctant to fire a manager? Are they scared of lawsuits?

If the manager is anything other than a straight white male, they won't be fired.

The person in question is a black female who thinks the world owes her- I have heard rumors in our store that she said she would sue Kroger if she was fired
