The rich make the money off the backs of the workers at Kroger.  Investment funds own the majority of Kroger stock and provide lucrative retirements for the upper class in America.  The workers get a ten or 25 cent raise here and there but overall they get screwed.    https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/KR/holders?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYmluZy5jb20v&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAGX8nOXha_ckdgfWppWTYy5gdZ7r5qJyBJ2BlbO-tUeRSMxG4ufi8RBCiTQ_FWOKXZ0DxySK6ILO-_K-KB4GBmhbejJjOaijtOtrpW7hOFUSCJ7EURDhIwtLA2IR3YTcE1LMDO4ipvhnzWUoyBJ2XH2kN58lLPkWV_d29bf7VARW

.....and....is the stock of must large companies....... If the associates really want to have a say in something, buy stock and then all associates come together and say something. Believe me, if a LARGE number or associates do this, even the investment firms will start asking questions and they WILL get answers. In reality all an investment banker needs to do is ask one question on an investment conference call and an answer will be given, these conference calls make or break the Companies/C-Suite Execs.

At least half the people in my store are on some kind of public assistance (WIC vouchers, food stamps, going to food banks etc.) I find it ironic that Kroger wants to eliminate hunger by 2025 but they won't address these SAME issues with their employees!!!!

Because they don't really care about eliminating hunger (period or in a healthy way - by being more competitive with wages ) - they believe they have to pretend to care about certain things to pander to customers who also don't care.. Basically w/e they believe the "in" thing to be is, that's Kroger until the next "in" thing replaces it.

I'm sure the statement was more like "Eliminate Hunger" in the communities we serve. Which, with all the $$ and "donations" (unsellable product), they are eliminating hunger. Your confusing a PR Marketing campaign with operations of the stores/company.

In reality people on public assistance would need to be addressed by Gov. Regulations and or the community in general. If the Min. Wage isn't enough to live on, write your Congressman. Business cant solve large community problems, they can only provide services to the community they serve. Everyone forget, Business are For-Profit and will only do things to grow their profit, Gov. is there to serve the people and make laws and regulations to better the community in general. The problem is Gov. is divided and now expects Business to self regulate.

Thank god my parents made me start a retirement fund when I graduated high school. It was a pain in the rear donating 30% into it when it wasn't all that much. They contributed equal amount. But with all my basic needs being met by them I really had no need for that extra income. Being in my 40's I now see why they did it. In the long run they set me up well because that 30% x 5-10 has doubled in a couple decades. I still input the maximum allotment allowed every year. No problems retiring here. Social security will give me 20% if it's even there in 30 years. I doubt it. Plus what ever my parents leave me. Plus what ever retirement I have from my 401k here. From someone starting out with nothing they did me well. They also taught me a lot about how the financial system works and operates. I kind of wonder if I should have been a financial adviser instead of a cashier.

Strange.  They must be nuts.  Lots of fund managers making big money while this evil company gets worse.

Sell.
