I know this might be controversial to say. Okay, first just let me say I hate Kroger corporate. I know there are a lot of things wrong with the company. All I'm saying is (which I never thought I would ever say) is I am thankful I work in the grocery industry right now.

My immediate family members, extended family members, friends and neighbors are losing their jobs. The only ones left with employment will be me, the ones in hospitals, and the couple who jumped over to grocery from restaurants for some of the openings. I'm just thankful I can still pay my bills this month.

I'm thankful for the nurses in my family (sister, two nieces, three cousins). I know I'm at high risk because of all the customers coming into stores. However, I am not taking the risk they are taking. I don't have to be in operating room with a positive patient just praying the precautions we are taking are going to be enough. I don't have to take decontamination showers. I won't have to be in room when the choice has to be made who they try to save and who dies. I'm thankful I don't have to tell someone in pain...sorry we can't do your surgery right now. If you think working in a grocery store right now is scary, be thankful you don't work in hospitals (the stories their telling are a nightmare). I'm worried about all of us in the grocery industry, but I'm terrified for the ones in healthcare.

i'm a (kroger) pharm tech and i'm also grateful that my job was spared and i, as of today, have no (extra) trouble paying my bills. the estimate i've been seeing is that 200+ million infections could occur here roughly 2/3 of the country. i come home and try to take my clothes off without touching anything, sanitize my phone and eyeglasses with alcohol, take a thorough shower, washing my face, hair and my ears where i've shared a phone behind people, and i also wear a surgical mask to work. we don't get to stand six feet apart always at work and some of my co-workers don't take things as seriously. i would like to relax again but i want to help keep my mom from getting it, she has diabetes and is a smoker

I'm thankful to two things...

1) I don't work at Kroger anymore.

2) Half of the country is fighting for capitalism and has the best skill set because they don't mooch off of everyone else.

How about I'm thankful I STILL work at Kroger and have $$$ to pay some of these bills off, while others will be waiting for some stimulus check to come in the future, whenever that will be...The stimulus will come, I'm sure, but at least I don't have to wait for it and can start paying bills off NOW!

I'm thankful certain types of black people (not all) are defying the social distancing order.  That means we'll  have fewer thugs around in this country because they'll infect their own hoods:

Somehow this will be Trump's fault and/or racism if this party participation wipes out lots of black people:

Eh.  I should be thankful, I know, but it's real difficult.

Even with "Hero Pay", I'd still make more on unemployment.  And I really need a ****ing break from this place.

I realize that a lot of people have been let go and are having a hard time making ends meet.  And that really does suck.

But I hate working here to the point it's driving me to alcoholism.

I'm moderately insulated from the Rona, working in fuel, but I'd seriously drink on the clock if I wasn't afraid of being ran over or robbed.

Nothing wrong with sneaking a little sip here and there
