I'm guessing this isn't technically allowed but I need to satisfy my curiosity.
My kroger uses a Kronos system for clocking in and out. Kronos has
A mobile app that allows you to clock in and out on your phone. Has anyone ever tried this?
If I was still working at Kroger I would not install that bull-S*** on my Phone. I will just clock in on the wall clock. They may have that Krono's app set up with tracking and will track everything you do.
I personally hate Smart Phones. Computers are ok yes they are some spying but your not taking it everywhere you go. That Krono's app could have your camera and microphone activated and you not know it.
I was asking my family once about Dinner. We talked about a place and was wondering the number. I was holding my phone and I open google and the suggestions was that restaurant we were talking about now isn't that strange? Someone is listening.

I'm sure this APP if for people working remotely or traveling from place to place. I'm 100% sure clerks wouldn't be able to use this.
Still no app they just go to that stores clock use your clock number. If I remember correctly clock numbers have the stores number in them where it can be used but does not have to be. Say store 126 and my clock number was 36 at my home store I would punch 00126036 something like that. When they first set the bio thing up with your finger mine would never work so I had a number and everyone does but most use their finger.
At the time I used an application that synchronized the output and input, something similar to what you mentioned but it was for personal use, because I had it done with a company that is dedicated to hire flutter developers, they make personal software or private applications for use of your own without being business luxury.

Fake news. There are securities in place to prevent such invasions. Its your own fault if you disabled them or never set up/turned on the features. The Kroger app is fine OP. it doesnt track anything..

^ ahahahahaha what ever. Spy ware has been in our communication devices for at least 20 years, CHILDREN Know this is true
You talking about the new MyTime system? All stores are switching over to it as far as I can tell. But I wouldn't put that app on my phone. It makes you accept an agreement that means if you get fired or leave the company, they have a right to wipe your phone if they deem it necessary. I'm not giving them the satisfaction of being able to do that. You can still use the punch clocks in the store, or use the store computers/Zebras to clock in or out. They're not getting my personal phone.
Same with me. I would NEVER put that app on my phone. The ONLY way I would use that app is if I got one of those cheap pay as you go phones for that purpose, and I'm NOT sorry, I LOVE to day this, its NOT gonna happen. Plus I heared a rumor saying they can access your camera? Well, if it's true, and I had the app, first thing, I would do upon powering up my phone I'd flip the bird.
Childish and pointless? Yes.
But so is a company saying they can wipe your phone as the deem necessary if you get term'd or quit.
I wouldn't risk your weekly pay over an phone app.
My time is a piece of sh**it. it has the right to delete your phone data and reset it to factory settings. A huge security risk to your phone.
The company set up this ridiculous notion that you should install it and do daily training on it. Bull sh--it: 1) it's time consuming and unless they're going to pay you don't do it.
Is there a way to block them from wiping your phone if you decide to install the app? Im not going to, but I wonder if there is a way to block them.
Here are some ways I can think of.
1. Don't install the app.
2. Delete the app and all its files yourself before Kroger has a chance to.
3. Take the battery out of your phone when you're not using it.
4. Don't install the app.
I never have to worry about spyware and other stuff being installed on my smartphone. Why? Because I don't have one. The only thing my phone can do is make and receive calls. I don't even use it as my regular phone. I keep it just for emergencies. I get disgusted when I see people walking around with their heads down staring at their phones not watching where they're going. There's even a commercial for a neck wrap that's suppose to relieve neck pain from looking down at your phone all day. I've got a better idea. Put your phone away. There's an old jke where a patient says, "Doctor, it hurts when I do this." The doctor says, "Well, then don't that."
