It's crazy a.f. here and they want me on Crowd Control. Meaning every 5 people leave, we let 1-2 people in. That is just plain STUPID! yes, I know it's to make people keep distancing, but this crowd control is NOT working. I try and explain it to them and even point out we are so short staffed that they are calling other depts to bag, and all they seem to hear is " DJfhhrjdjnfjrjrbj."
So with that said F*CK crowd control. I'm going to help where it's actually needed. Maybe if they actually scheduled MORE help, or better yet HIRED some new people just for crowd control, it would be easier.
I say as long as corporate America continues to pander to their rich companies even as this so called pandemic rages on, ushering in millions of customers nation wide every day, as all the small non rich corporate retailers are literally dying in droves, then they should cut out this bullsht of crowd control. Only reason they're even mounting that facade is to look good politically.

Shouldnt a manager be doing that or the security guard? Ill be damn if I do that after hearing some security guy was shot and died cause he told a woman your child needs a mask too.
I agree. And yes security should be doing crowd control. Our last security did a piss poor job at stopping sholifters, but did ok for crowd control. But they either were terminated from working our store, or went to another one.
We'll see how today goes and if they bring in someone just for today.

I worked for walmart and one yr they had me guarding the black friday dvd displays. My job was to keep people from looting the racks until go time, 6 pm. it was 1.5 hrs of me dealing with fking grown people acting like 3 yr olds and me repeatedly telling them they had to wait. One guy shot his arm right over my shoulder and grabbed one, bout knocked me over, and that was it. I walked straight to the first mgr I saw and told them I was over it, I aint paid to get in a fight over sht that aint even mine.

I drove through the parking lot of my old store today. It was the same as usual. Very crowded and people parked in Fire Lane. I passed back by 30 minuets later and even more crowded. One truck was still there and the side of the building that should be employee only parking. There it was crowded also and one car parked in front of the trash fence that should have been closed but gate wide open and trash bags on the ground not in the dumpster. I Shure do miss working there especially on days like today it was cold and rainy.

I feel ya on the evil pleasure / nostalgia drive-bys. I still sometimes do that with my old store; hard not to, I was inside for over a decade. Matter of fact, I too drove by my old place this afternoon just to witness the sheer chaos I used to be a part of. Where I'm at the temps were around 6 and with high winds, I was glad as HELL I wasn't out there fetching carts!
