it started snowing heavy sunday afternoon, manager brought me home from work

i cant get to work, and pretty much everyone in my dept called in, and its going to remain below freezing so the snow/ice wont melt

then its going to snow again tonight and stay below freezing until friday

earliest it looks like i'll be able to return is friday if not later than that

do i need to use up my vacation/personal days so i dont lose my insurance?

That is an option, but you won't lose your insurance just by having 0 hours. I went a month without being able to come in and didn't lose insurance benefits. The premium will just come out of your next paycheck that does have hours.

ive been told you have to keep fulltime status? if you work like 7 hours in one week thats going to hurt your average considerably, no?

btw today and yesterday the whole kroger store closed at 6pm

i feel like this is something we should be compensated for since its an extreme case and we cant even come to work for several days

I heard Grocery Stores in Tennessee were closed. I am not sure where you are but this is a State of Emergency and people need to stay off the road. Store shelves are empty no bread etc no way to get bread to store with ICY/Snowy roads. People just need to stay home.

Takes quite a few weeks to lose full time status. You have no control if the store was to close early for a whole week. And lol at compensation.

Right? Stop being a bunch of sissys. Leave earlier and drive slower and youll be alright. youre not entitled to any kind of severe weather pay cause you cant drive.

Lucky for all the babies the snow has cleared and can go to work instead of using the light snowfall as a excuse to be lazy and not work. Stores are empty cause of this laziness... the ones who did go to work should get some praise.

Snow is gone now. Now get your ass to work and you better be on time no excuses.
