Why is the world is there more American cheese in the Mexican Sherred'd cheese? If I wanted American (Chedder) I would buy it.

Oh and do not blame this on the China Virus. China has nothing to do with this.

Don't know where you got your info. But the ingredient lists are online.  Mexican STYLE shredded cheese:

https://www.kroger.com/p/kroger-shredded-mexican-style-cheese-blend/0001111050204

No mention of American Cheese. They do mention Monterey Cheese.

Mexican STYLE means it is supposed to taste something like cheese from Mexico.  The word STYLE in this instance means "sorta like, not an exact replica".

Please remember that the names assigned to products are just NAMES.  They may, or may not, really mean anything!!  (Like - French Dressing and French Fries are not really from France).

American Cheese is just a name that was assigned to a "watered down version" of Cheddar. It is blander than Cheddar.

OK That is the product and I get my info from what I purchased. You see on the package it has "mild chedder" I consider cheddar cheese American. And they are more slices of the mild cheddar than the other.

If it is the Kroger brand it could be from anywhere. Some countries allow slave labor to lower costs.
