Dear kroger: Going back to normal hrs will not solve the staffing shortage
Permalink

First kroger only gave us about 1 month advance notice before going back to normal hours. Yet staffing is still a mess and most of our departments are still "closed" during the day time hrs due to failing to fill the shift slots. Kroger going back to normal hrs will not increase your sales. They'll hurt it. People have pretty much gone else where for their morning cup of coffee. people have pretty much gotten use to going through sco even though half of them are @$$ holes about it. Side departments often don't have a closer and close any where from 3p-6p. My store and others around mine often have zero courtesy clerk so it falls onto the managers to do the duties. Good f**uck kroger your company is a god damn mess.

If this weren't a health insurance job I'd of moved back to my old profession

*Fyi: I don't check replies because half of them are fu--ck you replies from other associates.

Hey, anonymous, You might as well start using this line as your own special unique User ID: " *Fyi: I don't check replies because half of them are fu--ck you replies from other associates."   (Not that its necessary------ we recognize that is you from your excessive hatefulness  to everybody).

We know it's you before we read more than three lines of your posts. This makes about 70+ posts from you over the last year. All ranting  and raving about how you hate everybody, especially customers.  Why  don't you quit Kroger and be done with it?  I'm just tired of reading those kinds of posts from you.  You really need a different job ------ anything!!  I'm sorry but you really need help.  There are lots of places that offer help, you just need to seek them out.  Good luck.

We know you check replies...otherwise why post on here? You must know that you're going to get a variety of responses from trollish to helpful. That's with a majority of any sites you post on.

Totally agree with you. This was all part of the Plan-demic, and it's made the Super Rich (I don't call em '1%-ers any more---it's a whole lot less than 1 by now) a fkin BUNDLE of money. They kept pushing on staffing / supplies / etc cuts, wondering how far they could go and not only still break even, no only still make a profit, but GEOMETRICALLY INCREASE their net worth. And that's what's happened with this.

We aint seen sh!t yet. Wait'll they manage to do away with cash / coin currency. Yall just think we gettin fked right now.

The only things that will fix the "labor shortage" are paying more and offering regular shifts.  So people can reliably work a second job.  Because they have to.

It's hilarious.  We have more courtesy clerks than cashiers and departments are closing EARLY.

Grown adults can't afford to work here anymore, and that's even with Section 8 and EBT.

And probably only because the waiting lists are years long.

Our only serious applicants are here for health insurance... while Kroger is trying as hard as they can to kill it.

Just looking at the level of sheer mismanagement at every single level, it's shocking that Kroger is sustainably profitable.

Bezos should be wearing Rodney's skull as a jockstrap by now.  I don't even know what's happening anymore.

Due UN NEEDED staffing shortage I've seen some cc's and a couple SCO attendants help themselves to cash left behind by customers. I know your supposed to turn it in and get a Thank You as a reward but Thank You's do NOT pay Bill's nor buy food. So I say NOTHING when they pocket it. (Not my business anyway) and to be honest, I've done it a few times.

If they paid more, scheduled better, then MAYBE people wouldnt have to do this. Its bad enough people are even extending their own schedules just to make ends meet.

Dont ever feel guilty. And I wouldnt turn it in either cause they would probably pick it themselves. I mean you got cashiers claiming theres a change shortage when they are just pocketing the coin change. I borrow here and there from various stores to save max money for a Ps5 game or something.
