Bro Kroger need to find more people to hire. Like in our store today we had no C.C and all of the carts on the left side of the store was empty inside. I'm a new hire producer and I needed a cart to add the boxes in once the fruit is put out. So I had to run outside to get a basket and run back in THREE TIMES because one customer was taking my basket without me noticing. I'll leave to get more produce oland come back boxes on the floor. It's annoying asf. I  respect retail and always have been since my mom worked retail since 2005. But kroger need help my division 025 is VERY understaffed. Produce in morning where I come in at 9 it's 6 of us but when 12-4 it goes down to 3 and it's very Overwhelming and stressful. Alot of items are out-of-stocked and I let customers know if we don't have it because our backroom is very limited on fresh veggies, herbs, and fruit. Salads are always in stock.

I worked produce 2007---2016. Everything you say takes me back. ---And this was at Walmart. Produce was headlined as our premier department, yet they NEVER HAD adequate staffing. And you never wanted to be the closer cuz 100% responsibility was on you re. how that area looked.

Whew........FU CK retail, I don't miss NUTHIN bout it!

In reality, produce and all fresh departments are hard to keep stocked on the busiest of days. I would say most areas in produce have to be filled 2-3 times a day to keep stocked, its just the nature of the business. The problem is, you need staff to get it 100% full in the Morning, but then don't really know what area will sell first. I'm really surprised they haven't moved to a full in the back, swap out tray model. Why not fill up 2-3 trays of each item for the green rack in the back after processing and the just swap them out as the day does on? Hand stacking the green rack when its busy isn't effective. In reality, setting up trays in the back in the morning with fresh product, then swapping them out and placing the few remaining items from the old tray on up would be faster. Setting up a semi assemble line would allow speed in the back and time savings on the floor, sales growth.

As for carts, I'm really surprised most places haven't went to a bring a cart in model. Store all the carts in covered cart corrals, when people are walking past these to the store....they bring one in with them.

Our store is the same way. Once I needed a cart to get product on the floor. BAM! A customer said "hey, are you using that? Thanks." Takes it before I can even say "yes, I  WAS (no longer now that you took it) so I went around and grabbed another, this time removing my apron so others will think I'm a customer. Well the customer that took my cart saw me, muttered about it being "rude to do that" which I ignored.

As for carts, they ALWAYS call for cart service EVEN THOUGH we have NONE outside. I dont know why they dont just order more. Our get a cart collector to drive around and gather loose carts bbn off the property being as our cc's REFUSE to leave the property to get them. And they shouldnt have to leave the property to get loose carts...EVEN IF it's at the apartments next door or across the street.

Man I had three customers take my carts so I made sure to stack produce in the carts the last time. Nobody took my last cart. It's annoying that we don't have a C. C. We need carts, baggers, janitors, more hires. Heck I seen one cashier in my store stormed out due to her pay check was $8.50 when she check her account. She was a 10 year old worker and barley getting paid enough is sick asf.

Some stores have them, but depending on who is operating them they might be more a liability, plus I'm sure minors would be prohibited.  In reality, most of the companies stores are way too busy fir the previous grocery store models. I'm really surprised they haven't figure out how to streamline the cart process, hell they have basically eliminated cashiers ..lol
