I'm new, too. And got so much complaints. Customers hate new people. There's a group of customers that will complain on every new cashier towards corporate.

Added, customers demand discounts on from new cashiers. Gosh, customers can't expect to have their regular cashier for 100 years. People retire, get sick, go on vacation, etc.

Well, they're free to shop elsewhere. Not sorry, to sound like that but it's true.  They're new cashiers...back off.

Also we got customers trying to scam new cashiers. It's very entertaining to see the customer's reaction when their scam.attempt fails. I've seen angry scammers turn all shades of red....including pissed off red.

There's about three kinds of new (hourly) employees.

The first are children whose parents force them to walk here.

The second is people who think they need health insurance more than a paycheck.  Pay is so low they are generally incorrect.

The third are grown adults who have made shocking and catastrophic life mistakes.  Applying here was one of them, and they will continue to make them.

New cashiers have always gotten scammed, but there's not really any scamming cashiers.  There's too many cameras and LP only goes after employees.  Besides, you have to work the service desk to make a proper try of it.

Let's focus on this one for a minute.

'Catastrophic life mistakes' indeed. I guarantee---and would put money on it that I'm right----virtually any (particularly) male non management retail worker you see above age of 30 is an alcoholic, drug addict, learning impaired / psychotic----or all the above. There's exceptions to most everything, but this one holds almost universally true.

This is why you'll see these guys holding down these crummy dead beat jobs for, in some cases, decades. And they're purely miserable and love making everyone around them miserable too. I was just in one of my town's Kroger stores this morning and there's two of these creeps there, just mean muggin' the sht out of every one. One had a clear odor of booze still on his breath from last night. Or maybe right before he came in.

Naw, no sympathy for these creeps. We make our own life choices.

In certain situations where the customer is abusive you can request them to leave after payment has been accepted. If they're an @$$ about it swap with management. There are exceptions. I mean were' not verbal punching bags. That's crossing the line. Some people who cuss up a storm I warn them. I give them one or two rants but if its an ongoing issue I tell them upfront to back off.

Masks are optional unless the government changes it again. Due to cases raising I wouldn't be surprised if they reactivated the rule. It is impolite to request one to remove it. Cases are high in my area and I'm not risking it. I live with high risk individuals and I'm not taking it off until this whole damn thing is done or near done.

Hey brainiac, it's NEVER going to be done. Because it was never about public safety, it's about social control. Only hope we sane non conformists have is to stand up on our own two feet and live free.

Btw...I've had this 'deadly disease'. Don't even know for how long before it was diagnosed. Guess what. It aint SH!T. I've had hangovers and head colds that felt worse.

Thats cute you think cashiers are unable to scam people. If I can do it then any one can. And LP is a joke.

Brainiac huh? Every one handles viruses differently. thousands of people who caught this had common cold symptoms and nothing more. Consider yourself lucky.
