Day crew or night crew?  Dry grocery, dairy or frozen.  As a Grocery clerk, you can be sent to all those departments.

Overnight crew is constant stocking and never ending work.

Day and evening crew gets some lee way.  Different never ending tasks but not as difficult.

If you can read bar codes, follow directions, learn the standards, are neat, can stack, know your shapes and show up to work, you should be fine.

Welcome to Kroger.

Don't worry.  You will do ok.  Try your best and learn as much as you can each day you work.  Try the job for the 60 day probation period before you decide if you like it or not.

Figure out who you can confide in before sharing too much about yourself.

Avoid drama and negative coworkers as often as possible.

Don't make cell phone calls or check facebook while on the clock unless it is an emergency.

Don't shop while on the clock.  Only shop and purchase merchandise when you are on break or lunch.

I am a night grocery manager and am not sure of everything done on days.  Many stores do the tasks differently.

I will reply to questions that I know the answers to if you ever have any.

Good luck.

It is 90 days.  I can never remember.

You have to get hired first.

What the hiring person says is training and orientation is sitting at a computer terminal watching videos on safety, standards, best practices and etc.  Some have test questions afterwards.

The real job starts after you finish those computer tasks.

Afterwards, you should get real hands on training.  Either the grocery manager will give you directions and see how you do.  Or, you will be teamed with an experienced clerk and learn as you go.

Every day is different.  There is always something that needs to be done.  Top Shelf scan, backstock, replenishment, do reports and etc.

Take a 20 minute bathroom break, pretend to face a aisle already faced for a good 30 mins, make 2 or 3 trips to dump card board. Anything to waste time and slack off from doing the actual work cause thats what other people doing they bother to show up.cxhjt
