I  a coworker who has been with company for 20 plus years.  Keep in mind she has not moved up at her own choice.she has been rude and ugly to fellow coworkers including me saying we do t know what we are doing or always saying we are doing things wrong. Then show me t he right way is my response. She dies not. Also on several occasions she has tried to cash a very large government check that does not belong to her. Fortunately for us the system also kicks it out. She even stated that a particular hire up approved for us to cash thhavee check out of policy which we found out she lied about this. She tried at other stores as well. She carries keys on her personal key chain that belong in the store.  These items have been brought to the attention of supervisors to no avail.  People do we really want someone this DISHONEST working with us.  I SAY NO!

Regardless of how many stores I've worked at ther'es always that one or two nasty shi--t heads. You can't get around it.

I would suggest to tal kto management about this. ASk to transfer to another department or work a shift opposite of thiers. That's the only way around this. I've tried union grievances but the union also backs the nasty @$$ hole. Once you get to 10 years with the union you pretty much have immunity expect the 3 things that cause for immediate termination and most people are smart enough not to do them. Stealing, selling restricted items to under aged individuals, job abandonment...

1. Don't type in caps lock it's rude. b, reduce your font size as it's annoying as heck and it sounds like you're yelling.

In a union protection job yea it sucks. People that have 10 yrs or more with the union are pretty much golden protected and they can get a way with a ton of b.s. There's only like what 3 things that get people immediately terminated and most people are smart enough not to do them. I work with a couple of coworkers like you described and it's annoying as hell. They're constantly getting away with cra--p and other things that would not be tolerated in in non-union jobs for a second. I transferred away from a couple locations because of the bi--tches. Faces it there's at least one or two of these so called people at every location. It's unavoidable in this line of work. You can do little things to avoid them such as:

Work opposite shift as yours.

Select shifts that expose you to them as little as possible. If you're forced to have a cross over make it so you only cross paths for an hour or two.

Work on thier 2 days off. This just means your 2 days off will be opposite of theirs.

Request to work another department.

Transfer stores. Only do this as a last resort sort of effort. Same goes for quitting.

You can file union grievances against them but it doesn't really do any good unless you want to piss them off more. Believe me I tried. One was a cuss mouth bully and it got old so I filed a union grievance against her and it turned her harassment ten fold towards me. I had to ask management to distance me from her. I find bullies are generally people who got the short end of the stick and they're just taking it out on others to make them selves feel good. They basically don't feel good unless they've made someone else miserable to suffer with them. I know I've worked with dozens of them. While others are just natural people who are nasty pieces of shi--t for no reason. It's like they were born with resentment against the world.
