One of our cashiers who has worked 29 years just retired
A particular longtime department manager is leaving for another job because he needs a change
One former backup is now heading a different department, because they lost the last guy, but I think he already regrets the change, because he has no help
And some have left for entirely that reasonThere is no help and theyre stuck doing everything alone
BUT
The store manager apparently thinks we have enough employees, although a large number of employees have quit under this managers watchThe DMs recommendation to hire more people for certain departments has also been nixed by this particular manager, who strangely thinks were fully staffed and yet wonders why certain metrics arent achieved and why certain tasks arent getting done
The managers complain that no one wants to work anymore, and yet, many say its this particular store managers tantrums they dont want to deal withAnd so they quit! Ive seen this happen and a lot of these workers are on the front end or in delivery
And then, there are the call-offs and the no showsAnd while some things cant be prevented, the manager stubbornly proclaims that we are fully staffedAnd yet, the chaos and the aftermath are evident all around the store
Its much different, compared to sayfive or ten years ago
People are frustrated and have had it up to here and you see it with them leavingBut, they dont get replaced, becauserememberwe are fully staffed!
Yeah, right!
You know, we used to have hiring eventsWe used to be able to pull in people easily, but its almost as if no one wants a retail job anymoreOr the ones that do get hired dont stick around, oddly enough
I wonder why
Ill give you one guess
But, yet, we are fully staffed!
If it wasnt for this company cracking me up half the time, I wouldnt get ANY humor in my day
