I love how employees cant take out for black out days unless management favors you or youre management and the store leader favors you as well.
We have this olde man who works in pick up who was doing this for the last few years but management started to figure out he would put in his vacation on Christmas week or thanksgiving (even use PTO for holidays thats be over crowded ) now they put a stop to it.
Most contracts say that vacations may be taken 52 weeks a year but management can limit the number of employees that go a certain week. They have to allow at least one employee to take a vacation during a so-called black out week.
Yes holidays are black out requests. Never schedule vacation around a holiday week. One plus of this schedule is you can just request any time of the yr off. Unless you have family in the school system you can work around time frames where everyone takes them off.

I request vacations/time/even if it is a holiday. 9 times out of 10 the request is granted
