Tired of seniors getting self entitled and playing on the "I'm old damit."

I'm sorry but when did age entitle you to  this b.s? I got out of  cashiering because this was one of the many things I got sick of dealing with. My three elderly individuals I nursed through old age to death did this attitude and i have ZERO respect for this attitude!

To my regulars:

Please stop using your age to cut in line. this is disrespectful to those that have waited in line for 5+ min. Then you walk up and act like you should go first. No that's not how it works!

Please stop asking people to move out of your way because you're too deconditioned to go around. Being a stocker I can not tell you how many unreasonable times I've had customers request a whole damn pallet be moved for them I'm sorry but it isn't going to happen.

Please stop refusing to learn technology. You will be left behind and even struggle in the slightest things. When kroger changed the payment system 5 yrs ago I can not tell you how many people that required repeditiveness struggled with this and bit--ched up a storm about one question being changed and having to use chip insert instead of slide.

Please stop double parking in the handi capped spots. 1 these slots already are double wide and you people are affes in taking 2. This limits room severely for others that need the one next to it. Having taken my elderly family members to the store during their final years I can not tell you how often I ran into this senerio. You are so self entitled you take 2 slots and you can't even park correctly in a double wide slot.

Please bathe more than 3 times a week and use online shopping to replace your cloths now and then. Trust me we can tell. I know one couple who does this and trust me your body odor reeks! I know as we age your body odor gets stronger due to natural changes in the system. However you can control it more with frequent bathing, properly washing your cloths and replacing them now and then!

Please do not hesitate an aid assist when you get to that point. I can not tell you how many seniors refuse to assist aid until their family members take away their car keys. Being a cashier I often cringed to some of our regulars crossing into the bitter old man phase. If a family member notices this: Please stop it before it sinks in deep.

If you're deconditioned it's your own damn fault. I'm sorry but when did society become so out of shape that we reward people for it? I suffer from obesity due to natural causes and have to frequently diet to keep it off. You can do little things like weighing your self once a week. Conditioning your muscles frequently. Trust me I notice a huge difference in people who eat right, exorcise regularly and take care of them selves physically and mentally. Enough of this I'm not at fault game.

One time had a line at a SCO area that normally didnt have a line of more than 3 people.  That day the line was 5 or 6 deep. One customer comes up and asks if i Can check them out.  Im like Theres the end of the line, pointing to the end.  I think that day they just went to a normal line in a huff.  And they werent even a senior.

The ONLY time Ill let someone skip is if theyre a coworker on break: They put their time in and that 15/30 min break is the second most important thing we have at this job  (the first being our paycheck)

at liquor, Dec 31st, 2022, asked someone for their ID.  The response I got: Thats the worst thing you can say to a customer.

Well THATS a new one. Umm asking for your ID?

Yeah Im 75 Im 85, I shouldnt have to have one.

Im thinking: Congratulations.   Would you like a certificate?  A shiny gold medal?  A big blue f**king ribbon?  Cause youre not getting any of that. Instead I say: Im sorry.  Its corporate policy.

If they tell me they forgot it or dont have one: Well that sucks.  If you forgot your ID at home, what wouldve happened if you got pulled over?

Listen, Im willing to help. Ill help you find things, push that motorized cart to the checkout lanes, teach you how to use the SCOs, set up your digital coupons.  What I will NOT do is tolerate any insults or bullying.

There's customers making claims that 40-45 is old to me as cashier. I find it funny because they think I'm much younger. I don't give them any grief of them being "I'm old"

First of all: Customers are always right in matters of taste.  Where in my post am I not right?  Second of all: you do realize if we all quit, the store will either have even LONGER lines, or could possibly close all together.

Just yesterday I had someone ask me if another lane could be open because the lines were so long?   Know what I told her?  We cant because we dont have anyone to OPERATE the lanes.  You customers think checking out your own groceries is bad; you wouldnt last a week checking out other peoples groceries.

Nothing but excuses and laziness. pushing buttons is hard! Seniors make the rules and were entitled.
