A Kroger Cashier was suspended after a customer used a family memeber's kroger card which had the employee discounts, It was NOT the cashier's kroger card or employee discount, and it was NOT the cashier's fault. She is suspended until the Union makes a decision to fire the cashier or let them continue to work. I have seen this happen many times and nobody has ever said anything until now.

Sounds like the cashier had a scam going on and finally got caught. Typical dishonest associate. Good riddance!!
It wasnt the cashiers employee number. Something isnt right
I think something is fishy af. The employee said it wasn't their number. Hmmmm....
You CANNOT get suspended for a customer using an employee number the customer punched in. Maybe the customer is related to the employee whose number was used.
Unless the employee used a random employees number to help that employee get fuel points or something. Who knows?

By Number do you mean phone number? If so, have them remove your number. I deleted my phone number when I was working at Kroger. People were using my number getting gas and discounts. I had them take my number out of the system.

If a cashier was repetitively entering their own number in to rack up points this is a no and considered money laundering. Unless they're new they should know to use the customer generic card we are provided to scan.
I originally lived with like 6 people and we all used the same number. Even after we all moved out of our parent's house we continue to use the same number. So long as that one employee continues to work for kroger everyone gets the employee discounts. Kroger has never questioned us on this.
The only way they would be suspended is if the cashier willingly entered their own number for a customer and it was repeatedly over and over again. Once is generally forgiving and not just cause for immediately suspension. There seem to be many facts to your story missing.

Family membets can use it too. But the crooked ass cashiers abuse it and are ruining it for every one. This is why self checkout robots are needed. Then they can get rid of these dishonest scamming scum cashiers!

I know what you mean. I've seen it a few times of staff being thrown under the bus for no reason but they are blamed guilty without trial. By now the time frame for a grievance has been gone but hopefully they filed one. I've worked many multi family house holds that no longer live under the same roof and use the number. I've also seen what you say and have family members borrow the card for a purchase. I think what got them is they scanned their family order then the other family member used their card. That is technically a no-no and they should of known this. If it is scenario b where they were working and the family came in to buy groceries while the other was on the clock. But used another cashier but the credit card under their name; the staff member should of been fine.
I really don't get this one. I know many families who have one credit card but it's cleaned twice for other siblings to use. We had to keep reminding the bank it wasn't stolen and yes 2 family members have an identical card.
