Our store goes through a lot of staff and I mean high turn over. We've had three new leads this year due to the high demand and expectation's of the job. It's caused a lot of long term or short term shift to move on or quit. We had one hard working staff member who left to a disability flair up but I think it was more than that. Our lead removed him from the shift he has been working the past 2 yrs and started complaining about how little he could due because of his reasonable restrictions. When his leave ended he chose to not come back. You don't take leave then call out the day you're to come back. That's an awesome way to put your self on suspension.
This means we've lost more staff this year than gained. We're now over worked and falling to illness or exhaustion and having to call out when it's at it's worse.

You must be talking about Click List (Pick up) I don't work that department, but I've seen them go through more leads in one year than all other departments combined do in ten years.

You replyers can bi--tch all you want but this is more common than you think. each time your store gets new management how many people quit? Every time it happens right? This yr we got a new lead and 2 people left. One stopped showing up after a while and tried some excuses to extend his "employment a bit" while the other just transferred out.
How much of this has to do with End To End nonsense? OTOH, what about the workers in Clicklist (Pickup) who will work 10 hours without a break? In fact, we had one guy who was SO fed up with Clicklist transfer to a different department and was happy to actually FINALLY get a break in his new role. I have seen or heard of leads quitting altogether due to the constant stress and BS they feel is unproductive and they are tired of being miserable coming into work. We had a produce manager just quit not that long ago, and that was following another produce manager who left for a big box chain. And hell come in once in a while to tell us hes the happiest hes ever been after leaving! I heard about another produce manager who quit a different store and couldnt get along with any of the other employees. Constant bickering and arguing, with the night staff criticizing the morning staff and vice versa. And then, you have all the retirement-age guys who want out. Weve seen younger people who quit due to either lack of training or the demands of the job or even get fired for silly, stupid reasons. A lot of the older cashiers, deli clerks, frozen and grocery guys have either retired or moved on to different stores for various reasons. Many times, its the management that can make or break a store, too, and Ive seen managers over many years that have simply run their stores into the ground. And the bad part of all this is the added work that falls on those left behind. And no one talks about these things!
So, a question. What are you guys seeing in YOUR stores? Same things?
