I am beginning to become very frustrated with this company hiring in utility clerks left and right while ignoring that many positions have been vacant since the roll out of the utility clerk position. The union needs to enforce/address how many floaters they can hire in per store. Many positions at my store have been vacant for over 1-2 yrs and counting. Little hopes of management correctly filling it with real staff. Trader Joe's uses the utility clerk system and it works if you know how to operate a company correctly with it. Kroger does not and it is a clutter f---uck mess. Our department has been -2 staff all year and I'm having little faith in them replacing the -2 staff any time soon. I stepped down to 4 days a week and there are many days where there is no one after I leave or my days off. I frankly don't care any more. This started out as a health insurance job and has some how turned into full time work and I decided to change my availablity. House work is piling up, I'm so exhausted I have to recover from exhaustion before I can enjoy my time off, I had to drop a couple hobbies that kept my sanity and I have aging family I'd rather spend time with while we still have them. Work is going back to pt work and I don't frankly give a f* at this point.
I had to push off a few quarters for school multiple times this year because work kept bi---tching about how short staffed they were and I'm just finishing my degree. 2 quarters shy of finishing and pushed out another 3/4 of a year because work was a di--ck about it. Sorry but education comes first. I'm putting my foot down about finishing my degree. I have been dragging my feet on the more difficult classes and not doing full time with them. I'm finishing it be they figure it out or not. They're exploiting my help at this point and I'm done with it.
I stepped down to 4 days a week at begin of sep 24 and forgot what it was like to not be completely exhausted all the time. I forgot how to spend my time off and stopped puttering and forgot how to use my spare time. It's nice to get back into routine outside of work. Work can kiss my aff for not taking staffing seriously. After my department started failing secret shops left and right due to lack of staff they started filling the void with utility clerks but they suck at the job as they don't know what to do nor take it seriously nor take any pride in it. Then we have to go through and correct the half affed attempted work thus generating more work.

I can vouch for that. I definitely make no effort when they put me some place I shouldnt be. My standards drop extremely low. im only out to help myself. I dont get paid to do that or a bonus so screw all that.
