Every now and then we need to leave work early for various reasons but usually for not feeling well. Many side departments are quiet after 5/6 pm and we often close them early any ways. So we sit bored either in the back room (blind spots of security cameras) or hide in the break room. And kroger wonders why call outs are high. It's because you can't go in saying "I'll give it a try and leave when I'm at limit." nope you work it all. That's why call outs are high.
Remember kroger does not care about your health, mental well being or you as an employee. Unless you store is on the point base system you have 3 scattered call outs a month and people wonder why they max them out.

You'll get no sympathy from me. If you think you're hurting Kroger, you're not. You're hurting your fellow employees who have pick up the slack and do the work you were suppose to do. I don't care how good of a worker you are. If you're unreliable, I don't want you working in my department.

There's no wonder. They love it. Full time hourly management doesn't pay enough for a one bedroom apartment. Maybe a studio on the other side of town if your dad cosigns.
But you'd need a car for that.
Starting employees get a coin over minimum wage. Random hours. Part time only.
I'm just glad there's a union.
They do things and stuff. For us. So I hear. I heard, they can get us a nickle off bowling.
Not a living wage, the possibility of full time, nor even a regular schedule.
But if you join, you can also get a one-time coupon for some chow mein noodles.

I hate it when depts are lazy AF. Each dept is supposed to do their own Temps, but they almost NEVER do them. So that sometimes falls into me. Then I have to go to each dept and so their job foe them.
Fun Fact: one of the dept heads heard me pitching about it and then decided to tell on me. Like a little kid.
Well, do your damn job, do your Temps, and your done.
Yesterday I didn't do it for them and not one got done. Oh, well. That's on them mot me.
