What does someone in a "Field Position" do?

Several years ago someone in our Local 1996n area got demoted from Regional HR to Store Manager (one month) then to what is called a "Field Position." I was told she was put in that job to see "how (she) gets along with other people." What exactly does someone in that job DO and is it considered a dead end/you career with Kroger is over position?

I think they are a trainer.  Unless she has other kroger knowledge, I suppose she is training HR people in different stores.  From Regional HR to store manager sounds like a step down.  Down to a "Field position" is a deep step down in my opinion.

Most "Field positions" are a Produce manager or Customer Service manager being promoted to train other stores how to get the job done.
