No, you are only requried to work your scheduled shift. Technically you need 48 hrs shift change notice for it to be legal. If it wasn't approved work what is in esced.
One thing I hated about being a cashier is if the closer called out and you were the 2nd to last shift and you ended up getting a 10 hr shift because of the jerk. You have the right to say no. You are not forced to stay over your shift.
