Kroger is keeping it pretty close to the vest. If it doesn't involve Kroger operations or Kroger employees, is there a possibility it could be a criminal issue?

If it was criminal, we would know about it. If they wanted to keep the reason a secret, they should have just said, "Rodney McMullen has decided to resign from Kroger." I wonder if there's somebody else involved and Kroger can't say anything because that person has to remain anonymous.

Original poster here. I wonder if this might be a case of blackmail in relation to the "personal conduct" charge he notified Kroger of. Someone who threatened to go to the press or authorities if they didn't get "paid?"
He blew the merger. That's not what they're saying, but it sure didn't help.
It loosely lines up with the Epstein files "release".
I think the merger was only part of it. The official reason said it didn't have to do with store operations or any Kroger associate. I wonder if there was some kind of bribery involved to keep someone quiet about behaviour not related to Kroger?
I don't know about other parts of the country but in our area (Louisville KY and southern Indiana region) the local TV stations have never said ONE SINGLE WORD about Rodney (that I saw).
This is actually a big story (Kroger IS a major American company,of course) but you know when most of the local stations show Kroger ads with those silly Kroji puppets during the evening news, they are sure to ignore or censor stories like this!
SO MUCH corruption , lying, misinformation, hypocrisy, and censorship in the "news" nowadays.
Disgusting!
If it was one of their "pet subjects" they would have talked about it every day!!

Same thing here in Atlanta, GA-not a word.

Here's what I think. I think it was because of the failed merger and the board of directors needed an excuse, any excuse to get rid of Rodney. I think they were all expecting to get a lot of kickbacks from the merger. I'm sure if you followed the money, you would know who's really in charge. Kroger is corrupt and I have absolutely no respect for them.
Rodney had CP content, or so "I legally heard as rumor".
It was hidden due to his status and wealth.
No news will talk about it. No one will admit it. They want it gone as fast as possible. It conveniently lined up with the merger going under and they are using that as a smoke screen for him to exit without charges.

I was drunk when I posted this. No one knows, everyone's guessing.
They won't ever tell us so we can only go on rumors and that's the one that makes the most sense to me on why it was announced and buried so fast.

It doesn't matter what his status or wealth is. If he was in possession of child pornography, he'd be arrested by now. If it ever came to light that Kroger was aware of something like that and they hid it, the government would shut Kroger down.
It has to be serious even if local Ohio media isn't reporting anything. The Kroger grapevine (online and in store) usually is pretty accurate and I haven't heard squat either. So I wonder if it is bordering on criminal (?) if it didn't as stated have anything to do with Kroger associates or other aspects of the comapny
I bet those who know the reason had to sign a non-disclosure agreement not to say anything to anyone including their families. All it would take would be for some kid to overhear his parents talking about it and then go spread the news the next day at school. Kroger isn't trying to protect Rodney. Kroger is trying to protect themselves.
