I use to always pick up extra hours unless it conflicted with a personal appointment. Our new manager is such a di--ck. He does not fairly distribute hours nor understands the schedule writing rules. He just goes straight to favorites first and if they say no then he goes to his secondary choices. I recently learned I was a secondary choice despite having 18+ yrs with the company. Nope, he asks the cheap minimum wage new hires first then goes to the jrnyman folk next. Nope, that's not right. So you won't give me the hours I would like but instead give me the chicken scratch that's left over and come to me last resort when you've gone through lowest to highest seniority. No, that's so wrong. I'm saying "No." next time you need me after learning this. Scheduling is not my problem. It's yours management.
Ps. I actually am in the process of writing a lengthy report to file as an ethics report if our union fails to call me within one business week since sending off a letter. Then I'm going to go to their superiors and file a complaint with the union for failure to assist us in an ongoing case.
