Anyone else's store keep getting high call outs from staff because they shifted the secret shop walk to Tuse now and staff are getting fed up for getting written up for failing so much one aspect of it? This recent change Kroger did is a$$inine. I changed my availability to unavailability this day after missing one my self. This honestly sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Disabled, low functioning they don't give a f*. I'm waiting for the day when our lowest functioning team members get dinged for it then fired for it then no excuses period. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen in the long run.
I really hope our store manager gets on our closer about calling out each Tues as its getting old. He's one more secret shop away from being fired and yet he's not job hunting. Good lord apply, apply, apply for other jobs and take it seriously. Don't wait until you're fired before finding a new employment. If youre that tight it's not worth it.
They NEED to discontinue those things. I had a buddy fail a secret shop on HIS DAY OFF mind you. He failed thr ENTIRE thing, EVEN THOUGH he was not in uniform.
He refused to sign the write up, got and surprisingly pur manager agreed with him. Corporate threw a HUGE fit but calmed down when he threatened to get the union involved.
Exactly. They've gone too far with this one. I'm waiting for the day they chew out our 3 low functioning autistic individuals. Two of them can't even speak. This is literally a lawsuit waiting to happen. I'm highly functioning autistic and my inability to smile from my sad expression brought on by my condition has caused me to fail it more than once. Yea... thanks... Like I said lawsuit waiting to happen.
Our closer calls out every Tuesday instead of changing his availability. Oh, if he changes that he looses his could be 40 hrs a week. He has two choices get fired for a secret shop fail or call out one more time for a suspension.
I wish my coworker would just quit or get fired. He's one more fail to getting fired or one more call out to getting suspended. You can't call out once a week just because you don't like it. That's an avaiblity change. If my manager doesn't suspend him on call out 4 I'm saying something. This game with him is getting old. I feel bad due to his poor customer service skills he'll be terminated but there's a lot of little nuance work he isn't doing and it's getting old that I'm the one having to do it all. Advice to my coworker if he reads this: Find a new job or transfer back to night crew. Day crew isn't working out for you.
If you refuse to smile that's your damn fault. It's also your damn fault for not even trying to improve your customer service skills.
From a income point of view I get it but not everyone is cut out for grocery. If your prior company isn't asking you to come back that means they put you on the no-hire list. Some times quitting can put you on the no-hire list even if you left on good terms. Some places are like that. It gets old when some one starts playing games.

So which would you rather have: an employee who calls out on certain days or no employee at all? Judging from your posts, you sound like a real jerk.

Really sounds like youre more of the problem than the other guy. Why dont you take time to reflect on how slow and lazy you are and make changes to better yourself. You should probably ask the person youre out to get for help. and No, nonhires dont work like that either.

Not saying that the poster is perfect here or the guy hes talking about cant improve at his job, but at the same time, forcing everyone to smile or be friendlier and not on their own terms, as well as considering that some employees may be having mental issues, a bad day, social anxiety, being on the spectrum, etc. is just a disaster waiting to happen, especially if there are issues certain employees cant change! On the other hand, MY customers love me! THEY are who matter to me the most! THEIR opinion of me matters more than anyone elses opinion, because theyve known me longer and know Ill go out of my way for them! They are regulars that have been shopping at my store for years now and I know many of their names PERSONALLY! Some of them I even remember when their kids were babies and are now graduating from college! I try to greet them personally and HEARTILY as often as humanly possible! If I am busy with several other customers, they understand. I do not forget and go out of my way even more for them when they make a return visit! And they thank me! They tell me sometimes that I am partly the main reason they come back! But one missed shop for one minor thing and none of that matters! Really??? Does that sound messed up to you???
