Out of control customer yesterday in my store-should the police have been called?

Crazy woman claimed cashier hit "(my) elderly husband." Wrote out a note for (??) stating what (allegedly) happened. Small kids were in the area and witnessed this. At what point do you call the police to remove said customer from the store because they are being a liability to employees and other customers in the store?

That cashier needs some jail time. 5 years is sufficient.

Look back at the camera. IF and ONLY IF it's true then press charges against the cashier for sure.

If it's not true, the get that f*cking Karen out of the store.

Thank goodness the store had the security video. It clearly showed the customer leaning toward our cashier trying to hit HER. She pushed him away. Customer clearly lied and we think trying to get money out of us

This discussion begs the question: At what point or what incident(s) will your store call the police? It seems in the Local 1996 area (Atlanta GA) they are reluctant to do that even with large-scale theft as a customer rolling out the door with a load of groceries and driving off (which has happened in my old store many times.)

Thank goodness we had the security video. It clearly showed the CUSTOMER putting his hands on our cashier and shoving her. The wife tried and lied to say our cashier hit him!! People are nuts.

Yes never hesitate to call even if management says no.

I had an incident once and a customer started screaming and yelling and verbally harassing me and it started crossing a line. All I did was say "hello" and she just went balistic on me for something being off ten cents in the system and it was a digital coupon. then she proceeded to hrass me about garbage lies she began spewing and the manager got involved at that point and said what the hell before getting my statement. I had to go isolate in the break room and she kept screaming at her lungs and the manager had to keep her at bay from going up there and yelling at me further. No, call the pd I wish I had.  You have rights too. You should not be punished for showing up to work and saying hello while doing your jobs.
