Eggs are a staple to many because they were a cheap source of food or inexpensive protein. Starting in 2024 they reached as high as $14 a case for a 12 pack. I noticed they recently drooped below $5 at my store for conventional brands. I've been having to get mine from locals that have chicken coops. Basically a black market buy. I don't eat a lot of meat and eggs are a stable protein source for me. This is sad considering before the 2024 inflation hike they averaged about $2.50 for a container of 12 for conventional ones. They went up in price but never came back down.
