I wonder if this has *anything* to do with Rodney resigning. And I think it is strange the article said they Kroger isn't releasing the stores listed for closure at this time. Any idea of the stores on the chopping block?
I did hear a rumor of this as well but they were no discuss on the topic. Yes I think you're right as he cost the company quite a bit on the sale loss.
Probably not about our former CEO. Profitable companies don't cut hours and staffing in stores or close stores. Kroger carries a heavy debt load which means a very high interest expense. Kroger is likely struggling due to overextending itself from the failed Albertsons deal. Possibly lying to the shareholders and public about its overall profitability. Even worse the company is profitable but they cut hour, cut staffing, and close stores to increase executive compensation, bonuses, and shareholder dividends at customers and store associates expense. That scenario makes Kroger look like a corrupt organization hiding behind woke policies and good PR.

Pretty sure 57 of those stores are ones where the blackies shop and steal from. They steal detergent, sugar, kool aid, toilet paper hell even ramen. Its always them!
4 store are closing in the Atlanta GA area-1 is in my district. The Memorial Drive store closing doesn't surprise me, it's in a bad part of town. The other two are in mainly Hispanic areas (Buford Highway and Brookhaven.)

Great news. Now the dark ones will have to steal elsewhere
I already went thru one store closure in my area and it sucks. This displaces the workers. It does not mean that these workers will be able to find employment at other stores. Many people just quit and find new employment else where. If I didn't have longevity and contracted into older red eye rights I'd just consider moving on. Not a lot of dumb dumb jobs that offer 25% higher pay than other non education jobs.
I was told that in the Local 1996 area where these closures are going to happen aprox 1000 people will need to find new stores. It is mandated by the Union contact and as such transfers for store employees that are not in a store that is going to close are put off until at least November
I wonder how many of these store closures are due to rampant shoplifting?
Plenty specially the Stores in the south. The blacks are the blacks are the usual suspects
The store on Morosgo Way closed one week early. A store on Memorial Drive and one on Buford Highway are also scheduled to close. Can't remember the other one. The last closure is scheduled for October.

It does not if you look at the amount of Kroger has to pay towards lawsuits loss.

Kroger has paid out a fortune inn discrimination lawsuits (with both management and employees.) Look up "Kroger disciminattion lawsuit" and there is a ton of into including about an employee who killed himself due to harassment from his store manager because he was "special needs."
