Memo said that employees "shouldn't be playing on the phone" and note said our Fuel Lead "would be removed" if it continues. It was written by a guy named Mark (can't remember the last name.) On a shift there is only so much we can do (replenish tobacco, check fuel center outside, take care of customers.) We DO have down times. Especially around 9PM at ours. Did any other store that has a fuel center get this memo?
Original poster here. Mark that wrote the memo said "if you have time to lean, you have time to clean." He just doesn't get it. There is only so much one can do at the Fuel Center and there is not enough to do hourly. When I read the memo, I just rolled my eyes. He should do an 8 hour shift and see how things REALLY work. It's not as he thinks in his ivory tower.

Totally agree-and the memo also said they want us to "engage with customers" while outside. Sorry it is not happening. Our Fuel Center is a bit isolated and at night that can be an issue. I am not going to go up to some random stranger and start a conversation (especially with me being an assault victim many years ago. Not at Kroger though, it was where I was living at the time.)
