This is probably the first coworker I've worked with that has been allowed to ignore the schedule, work what ever they want when ever they want and how ever many hours they want, modify the department schedule as pleases.... Select favorite staff get preferential treatment, hours and schedules. Since day one they've never been there for staff because they insist on working night crew hours when it is required for the lead to be on day time hours.  I decided I will report this officially as this is not right. I'm not standing by on this any more. It's wrong and needs to no longer be ignored by corporate. I've never known any coworkers I've worked with to generate their own schedule for 1-2 yrs and allow it without getting in trouble.
