Its called Key Retailing
Better yet, Key Refailing. The worst mistake Kroger has made IMO through Key Refailing is by focusing on engagement and friendliness to customers. Don't misunderstand me, there is a fine line between being downright rude to customers and being a smiling face rehearsing the same lines every order. Kroger knows they cannot compete with Ole Wally on price, because Walmart will match prices with every store in the general area. So Krogers response is to make their stores so friendly and engaging that customers will want to return. It's extremely difficult to do that when most of the customers are either distracted with their cell phones or have children to attend to and are trying to get in and out as quick as possible. We're not too far away from seeing RFID technology. If Kroger jumps on the bandwagon, you will see UPC's and scanbars replaced with RFID tags that customers can scan products from their own carts and insert a USB drive into a kiosk to total the order and check out. The day Kroger realizes that engagement does not work and that their customers want to come in, buy their stuff, and get the hell out will be the day the above is implemented, and you will see even more jobs being cut. It's a double negative.
Key Retailing is the worst thing Kroger has done so far in my career with the company. It makes me sad to see what they have made this company, Hell, even this country. I can work my Department just fine with out Key Retailing.....and until Key Retailing it was FINE. How can people who supposedly are retail leaders suddenly not know a damn thing about their business? The idiotic **** they think is important baffles the **** right out of me. Key Retailing doesnt do anything. I do not need signs where to put my back stock or where to park my nine foot worthless u-boat that takes up way too much space in my cooler. I do not need to micro manage my time with a team stocking guide. I do not need to bag or check or go get carts in the rain or snow because the front end cannot schedule enough hours or utilize them properly beause of ELMS (another waste). I do not need more **** to do and not enough time to do it. You know Key Retailing does not work when the MF'ERS who implemented the program in your store can't make it work or even explain it. So anyways I am off to the BLUEHAIRBALL....
Veteran of two tours to afghan, got out to go to college, started working at kroger because my gi bill still hasn't come to me to help pay my house and car bills, 1st day I started they offered me minimum wage because "I havent held a cashier job!" I apologize for having a deeper respect for my country, I apologize for having more of a commitment to Americas people than 90% of the populace, I APOLOGISE FOR SERVING 2 YEARS IN THE WORST CONDITIONS SINCE THIS WAR WAS STARTED AND SEEING NUMEROUS OF MY FRIENDS DIE FOR YOUR SELFISH UNFORGIVING ASS!!!
Absolutely. We as employees entertain the ridiculous ideas of Key Retailing. The funny thing is is that when we fudge the numbers to meet the standards they do not even realize it. I wonder where they come up with this stuff. Whoever was the brain behind Que vision needs to be relieved of their position. If you need a screen to tell you to open another lane then we are already beyond help! There are many times the Que vision tells us we need three lanes open and there is no one in line. I realize I am not the sharpest crayon in the box but even I can handle this one! They need to rely on the employee to do the job they hired us to do. If they want a computer to do the job then let them. I can tell you one thing, I spend an hour of my day correcting the outrageous mistakes cao makes. I am counting the days until I can tell this company bye bye.
Quit QQing about your job your just mad i can tell by your all the mistakes in your writting seriously grow the **** up

spelling nazis soooo turn me ON!
I'm an employee in Ohio. When I started at this store three years ago we had 8 employees stocking at night time. We now have 3. It is impossible to do the same ammount we used to with this few of employees. Then each morning I get the treat of being yelled at for holes on shelves that would be filled if ELMS gave us more hours. To top it all off, today it was announced that thirty-five more hours would be removed from my shift. That's two people remaining! There used to be eight! I wish the public knew how many employees are losing their jobs in these tough economic times, while people in upper management are getting six figure raises. Their salary is already enough to pay our whole store for a year.
Kroger apparently thinks the customers are idiots too when they raise the prices then put them on 'sale' for the old price. And whats up with the constant annoying sales pitches on the intercom? I pay a premium to not have to hear that bull**** on TV or the radio but will have to start shopping with my ipod. Is that bitch actually having sex with the pears while shes yapping about them?
I to agree. I work night stock thier will be a total of 4 of us working 2 of us are working 4 hour shifts and they want us to throw the stock up and work a uboat of back stock everynight on top of that fill the display ends ! Seriously Why is the day manager yelling at me every morning i come in put the stock on the shelf and he yells at me for not doing his job . Whatever !! been thier for 2 yrs now and this stuff is getting old . Ohh and im suppossed to use a telzon to and count back stock all that in a 8 hour shift YEAH RIGHT!
Ha you work at Kroger! He He Haw!
Be more versitile learn other jobs voulenteer yo work other depts most people hate to work overnight especially on the u=scan jump on it it will get you the hours, no one likes to work weekends volunteer , thats how i did it i been here now 20 yrs ive done everything from stock to managment and shop stewart

kroger central division is such dicks to there employees. They wanna cuts hours but they want **** done and done fast. Tell how when i started there a year ago we went from haveing five employess for eatch department down to two or three. I guess the ceo really wants his pay greety basteds.
But anyways kroger central the indiana division just sucks to work for.
**** Kroger.... go Walmart.... Kroger wonders why they are losing to Walmart.... they treat their employees like s h i t and treat the customers worse.....
Kroger has now become a s.h.i.t hole to work for they over work there empoyees they give them no help no hours. Its like what the f.u.c.k i feel bad mostey for the utility clerks they are treated like s.h.i.t over worked under paid and just mainly kroger's b.i.c.h all the **** work gets dumped on them. Kroger acts like there doing the world for there empoyees by makeing a fancy brakeroom for them . Stop waseting money on dumb s.h.i.t like that and and give the empoyees hours more help means stuff done on time wicth means more product on the sheves for the consumer to buy.
I couldn't aggree more, you hit the nail on the head!!
listen bro - its what you make of it man. yea sure, work sucks. we all know that. hell, i much rather be at home watching Judge Judy and the Price is Right. But I got to pay the bills. we all go punch in and do a bunch of medial tasks for 8 hours then go home. i could really care less what i do for them 8 hours as long as it is legal and not having me go into a sewer full of s.h.i.t.
so bitch all you want. that is what this board is sorta all about. the utility clerks took the job knowing their pay. hell they may even love it! i bet some if not most do. the ol' dude who does it at our store seems quite content pushing his cart around, mopping the break room, changing out garbage cans and sticking his hands in the toilet. more power to him! i love my breakroom for all its worth. to me its a little oasis to go to during another dull day of drudgery working at good ol' kroger. so is kroger a s.h.i.t hole? maybe but what company isn''t
I am no longer part of the oppressed, evil workforce of Kroger! Can you say "Hallelujah"
dude you must suck your boss D.I.C.K
naw - i got a wife. but the day i wrote that i was feeling pretty good. now today i hate kroger. see i jump from one degree to the extreme opposite so damn quick. whats wrong with me!!
they over work there employees they give you no hours or help so yeah **** them.
