I know that our union contract says that we are gaurenteed atleast 15 hours a week unless you are a courtesy clerk, if you are, then that would probably explain why but, I know exactly where you are coming from. I am technically a courtesy clerk however, I have experience and knowledege in alot of departments. Me personally, I was only scheduled to work 4.25 hours this week, but i went in and picke up a few shifts in other depts. That boosted my total hours to 20+ hours. I would get approval from your manager or superviser before doing that but thats what i did, hope this helps 0,
Newer guy up northeast. Paying my union dues, waiting for a call back from the local union rep-but here's the situation:
-I'm a lower man on the totem pole
-Just went in to check the schedule for next week-my name IS ON HTE SCHEDULE.
However, next to every day, through the whole week, the days are blank-and at the end of the week the total hours column says -and is written -"0".
People above me, on the schedule have 18, 20, etc hours SCHEDULED
Isn't there something in our Union contract that says "Minimum 12 hours/week" part timers-at least ?
What's up ?
My name is not NOT on the schedule [as in 'laid off'] -it just has a 'bunch o' nuthin' next it !
Any advice, experience out there in E-land with this one-much appreciated !
Thanks-

Ok first off answer this questions..... Have you worked and suddenly found out that your not on the schedule..... bc if thats it remember your on a 90 day suspension..... when first hired by kroger and they can do what ever they want to someone that is new . so if they thought you were not worst the pay then most likely they let you go. Between those 90 days you need to try to pretend you actually like the job bc they can drop u like butta without even the union being involved.

Why are you going to quote the union at all? Union says that courtesy clerks aren't supposed to work in other departments or run registers.
