Doesn't it annoy you guys when a customer will ask you about something that's not in your department? When I work frozen, I always get customers that ask me questions about meat/seafood items, or drug GM items. Can't they clearly see by my cart and my stocking Lean Cuisines that I work in FROZEN FOODS? I don't work in meat department or Drug GM, so how am I supposed to know how much catfish is, or if we have Pull-Ups in the girls variety? Jeez...these customers.

Truthfully, if you've worked there for more than a month, you should have a good idea of where items are.

You know what really pisses me off about customers? That you can block a checkstand off with a sign, have the light off and the idiot customers will walk around the freaking thing!! Like seriously don't you see? I get so mad.

I work in the Deli. 10pm lights are off, slicers are down, meat/cheese is wrapped and there is wax paper over everything.. Then some guy comes up

Man: Um yeah, I want some honey ham sliced not shaved and paper between the pieces please..
Me: Sorry sir we close at 9pm.
Man: Oh does this mean I can't get any ham sliced?
Me: Sorry sir, Our slicers are down.
Man: Oh. When will they be back up?
Me: We open tomorrow at 7am Sir.
Man: Oh.. Can the meat department slice anything..

Most customers are idiots. Kroger banks on it. Why else do you see 10 for $10....Why not just put $1.00 or $.99 on the item? They scam them constantly and know their idiots.

we had a display of salad dressing for 99 cents and for a month or more and it wouldn't move.  Raise it up to $1.00 and put a 10 for 10 sign on it and in less than 3 days they were gone.

Thats why Kroger knows people are idiots. Put a quantity on it and folks think they're getting a deal. 10 for $10 .  WOW they say, thats only a $1 each. Then trip on over to Walmart and get the same thing for $.88....I dont shop for staples at Kroger, some store brand is ok, get the sale stuff you know Walmart don't have, then get the staples at Walmart. Thats how you save money on groceries each week. I worked right between 3 groceries, Walmart,Brookshires and WD. Seen people drive across the parking lot and hit all 3 to save.

first of all, to be a good employee, you should know where everything in your store is located, then that way if a customer does come up to you and ask you where something in the store is located you will be able to help them, by either telling them where it is at or taking them and showing them where it is at, and if you don't know where it is located then get one of your older associates that has worked there longer than you have and ask them for help, like for example, they ask you where the bug spray is at.  and you don't know, so you tell them,  "Sir/Ma'ma I'm not for sure where that is at but if you follow me i'll find someone that can help you.  don't be rude to your customers.  as it use to say on our paychecks, "A satisfied customer made this paycheck possible.

Gonna go right ahead and agree with the last post. It doesn't break your back to walk around a little and look for an item or a co-worker with particular expertise. That's just common courtesy between two human beings when someone asks you for help and you're getting paid for your time. Grow up.

In my opinion, customers should not even have to ask any employee where an item is located because, after all, we have gigantic signs over every aisle that tells you very clearly what is located on it. So if a customer asks me what aisle cereal is on then they clearly do not know how to read because it says very clearly on Aisle 12's sign: "CEREAL".

They still say it on every check A satisfied customer made this check possible.  It cracks me up everytime I see it.  I know it's true but it makes me laugh that Kroger gets you everywhere even on your paycheck  A satisfied customer make this pay check possible.  Lol
