Funny thing is  they'll cut your hours then someday down the line soon want you to stay over and do them a favor when the trucks are huge or running late.

It's that "do me this favor" and "I'll show my appreciation later when I bend you over"hahahahaha

My store has been doing this lately even though this is the busiest time of the year.  Even with the hours being cut we have recently hired new employees.  I just don't see the point of this!

they hire new employees cause its cheaper to cut everyones hours and pay the new employee less and they don't have to pay them vacation pay.

Once again the union is a waste of space.

I agree the union is a joke.  Hours get wasted on alot of full timers with lots of years that don't work, and can hardly get fired

I was told the less hours the store has the bigger the bonus that the manager gets at the end of the year

I've been with Kroger for a little over a year now, and I actually just found these forums today, and reading who I quoted above just made me laugh hysterically. Managers used to pull that **** on me all the time at my store, until I got fed up with them continuously taking advantage of my courtesy, and I basically told them to **** off.

To the OP: my hours started getting cut about 2-3 weeks ago to, sucks balls  no

This has been the case for several years. They hire new employees at low rates, and terminate all overtime. The long-term Kroger goal has been to eliminate overtime. They do not look after their seasoned employees. Also true about keeping hours low enables the office to get huge bonuses. Workers are the bottom of the food chain.

I completely agree, I don't know why we have a union anyway. We should vote to do away with it. I could use the extra 40 - 50 bucks a month.

The thing that I don't understand is why will they not let someone making 7.50 an hour get overtime if a person making 15.00 an hour wants to leave? The overtime would only be 11.25. It would save them money but, overtime is a bad word.
