I have heard from several co-workers that if you don't have a 10 hour break between shifts that they have to pay you for the entire time at overtime pay. Is this true? I can't find my handbook. Is there a place to read it online?
Could not tell . depends on what your contract states. Ours states that you must have 8 hours between shifts.If I was to get off at 10 pm and back in at 6 am, then that is legal. If Management makes me stay until 11 or Midnight, then I have the right to come in late by the amount of time they held me over. Our local also is one of the few that does not have over time after 8 hours but only after 40 or on a 6th day.
